This position is responsible for both negotiating settlements with creditors and engaging directly with clients seeking relief from overwhelming debt.This role combines strong negotiation expertise with consultative client engagement. The specialist conducts financial consultations, guides clients through debt resolution solutions, and works with creditors, collection agencies, and law firms to secure favorable settlements.Success in this role requires consultative sales ability, emotional intelligence, disciplined execution, and a commitment to delivering exceptional client experiences while achieving performance goals. ** This position is ON-SITE in Richardson, TX 5 days a week **Key ResponsibilitiesNegotiate with creditors, collection agencies, and attorney offices on behalf of our clientsEffectively manage an open queue of accounts to consistently hit your monthly production expectation to meet department budgets Review clients account to determine funds necessary to complete settlement and payment of company fees in proper amount of time set forth by the departmentManage the relationship between the Creditors and our businessCalculate acceptable percentages for settlement according to guidelines set forth by departmentMaintain spreadsheet of all client settlements to track payments and lettersOther duties as required to support department operationsCore CompetenciesConsultative Skills Ability to diagnose financial situations, build trust, and guide clients toward appropriate solutions.Emotional Intelligence & Empathy Ability to connect with individuals experiencing financial stress while maintaining professionalism and compassion.Communication & Influence Clear, confident communication that helps clients understand and commit to solutions.Discipline & Execution Strong personal accountability for activity levels, pipeline management, script compliance and results.Adaptability & Continuous Learning Open to coaching, feedback, and continuous improvement. Required Qualifications:High school diploma or GED (preferred)3+ years' experience in a customer service, collections, or negotiation role (required)Effective communication skills (verbal and written)A high degree of initiative with the ability to meet and exceed monthly goals Able to prioritize and meet deadlines with little to no supervisionAbility to pay close attention to detail and apply policies, procedures, and guidelines to a variety of situationsStrong math skillsProficiency in Microsoft Office, SharePoint and client service software, database, and toolsBilingual (Spanish) is a plusKey Behaviors Aligned with DebtBlue ValuesGrowth Mindset Relentlessly pursue improvement and commit to becoming your best self.
