The IT Network and Telephony Engineer is responsible for the design, management, and maintenance of the organization's IT network, security infrastructure, and VoIP telephony systems. This role ensures seamless operation and optimal performance of all network components, including routers, switches, VPNs, and firewalls, while actively protecting the organization from cybersecurity threats. Additionally, the administrator will manage and support VoIP services, ensuring clear and reliable communication across the organization. A critical part of this role is identifying vulnerabilities, troubleshooting network and telephony issues, and implementing proactive measures to safeguard the integrity of the company's infrastructure.

    Key responsibilities this position will perform include: Network Administration Design, configure, and maintain LAN/WAN infrastructure, including routers, switches, wireless access points, load balancers, and firewalls. Implement and manage VLANs, routing protocols, and Quality of Service (QoS) to optimize network performance. Monitor network performance and availability, proactively identifying and resolving issues. Maintain accurate and up-to-date network documentation, including topology diagrams and configuration records.
    Network Security and Compliance Implement and manage network security controls, including firewalls, VPNs, and intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS) Monitor network traffic for anomalies and respond to security incidents in coordination with cybersecurity teams. Enforce access controls, segmentation, and secure configurations to protect sensitive data and systems. Ensure compliance with organizational security policies, industry standards, and regulatory requirements. Conduct periodic security audits, vulnerability assessments, and penetration tests, partnering with consultants/third parties where necessary Respond to and mitigate cybersecurity incidents in coordination with incident response protocols VoIP and Telephony Administration Administer and support VoIP systems, including call routing, voicemail, conferencing, and auto attendants. Configure and maintain Session Border Controllers (SBCs), SIP trunks, and telephony gateways. Monitor call quality and troubleshoot VoIP-related issues (e.g., jitter, latency, dropped calls). Coordinate with service providers and vendors to resolve outages or system issues. Ensure the security of VoIP infrastructure against threats such as toll fraud and denial-of-service (DoS) attacks. Monitoring, Reporting, and Optimization Use network and voice monitoring tools to track system health and performance. Analyze usage patterns and performance metrics to recommend improvements and capacity planning. Maintain logs and reports for audits, compliance, and incident analysis. Continuously evaluate and refine configurations to improve efficiency, reliability, and user experience. Provide reports to leadership on security incidents, trends, and compliance status. Perform other related job duties as assigned
    The ideal candidate will have: Bachelor's degree in information security, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent work experience) 7+ years of hands-on experience in network administration & IT Security 5+ years of experience managing VoIP systems and telephony infrastructure Experience in the healthcare or nonprofit sector is a plus, particularly in a regulated environment such as an OPO Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of networking protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, etc.). Proficiency with Cisco, or similar networking hardware. Experience with firewall management, IDS/IPS, VPNs, and endpoint security tools. Experience with VoIP systems, including setup, management, and troubleshooting of VoIP infrastructure (e.g., Cisco, RingCentral, Genesys Purecloud, Microsoft Teams Voice). Familiarity with Network monitoring tools (e.g., Wireshark, SolarWinds) Certifications: Relevant IT certifications preferred (e.g. CompTIA, Cisco, Microsoft) Competencies & Physical Traits Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making abilities. Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact with technical and non-technical stakeholders. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.     Key responsibilities this position will perform include:

    Develops and implements marketing plan that creates change in physician and hospital practice in the donor referral and family counseling processes that ultimately increases organ and tissue donation in assigned portfolio.

    Performs quantitative and qualitative analysis of hospital market to characterize donor potential and identifies and engages decision-making individuals who can influence hospital protocols to include best demonstrated practices for donor referrals and family counseling.

    Conducts education needs assessments for assigned hospitals and develops and implements educational plan.4. Establishes multi-disciplinary councils within assigned hospitals, using peer level influence in order to forge a consensus about standards of practice for the donor referral and family counseling and request process. Identifies decision-making individuals in assigned hospitals including chairpersons of medical staff, medical executive committee, ethics and critical care committees, surgery and medicine departments, and referring physicians and nurses from trauma, neurosurgery and critical care. Conduct individual meetings and gain support from each party, guide the group discussion and outline and implement next steps.

    Conduct field coaching and provide feedback for skill development in written and oral communications, public relations and sales and negotiation skills for clinical coordinators.

    Utilize superior customer service skills to develop and maintain relationships with referring physicians and nursing staff and medical and executive leadership in assigned hospitals.

    Disseminates and interprets data and research on increasing organ and tissue donation for medical academic audiences and policy review committees who can affect change in hospital standards of practice.

    Design curriculum for and conduct professional education programs.

    Respond to customer service-related issues in hospital portfolio with appropriate internal and external individuals and utili
    Make policy recommendations to hospital administration to ensure hospital compliance with state and federal regulations and increase referral and improve donation outcomes.

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    Education Required: BA or BS in business, education, public health, or health care related field.

    Experience:

    Two to four years of healthcare experience with families, counseling, bereavement and/or crisis intervention or 3-5 years of experience in hospital relations or OPO.

    Experience with performance improvement strategies, stakeholder engagement, and project coordination is applicable.

    Proven ability to build and maintain strategic relationships with healthcare professionals, including physicians, nurses, and hospital administrators.

    Ability to initiate and lead multi-disciplinary teams or councils to improve hospital donation practices and family care.

    Experience delivering hospital-based education or in-service training programs to clinical staff, including nurses, physicians, and administrators.

    Excellent communication (verbal and written), interpersonal, and presentation skills.

    Directs orientation, training and evaluation of new employees. Jointly responsible for staffing and development of B2L staff.

    Evaluates and oversees statistical data for key performance indicators. Identify and take action to improve communication activities to facilitate donation, and report findings to B2L Director
