    Davenergy Solutions is currently seeking a full-time Mechanical Engineer (Construction Management) to provide onsite Construction Facilities Management (CFM) support at the West Haven VA Medical Center in West Haven, CT. This role supports major renovation and construction efforts within an active VA medical facility by providing technical mechanical engineering support and construction management services in support of Government requirements.

    Requirements:Ability to perform full-time onsite Mechanical Engineering support at an occupied VA medical facility.Working knowledge of federal construction processes and applicable VA standards and guidelines.Experience supporting mechanical systems including HVAC, plumbing, medical gas, chilled water, steam, and related building infrastructure.Ability to review construction documents, contractor submittals, RFIs/RFCs, schedules, and proposed changes and provide technical recommendations to the Government COR.Experience supporting site observations and identifying mechanical deficiencies, discrepancies, and non-conforming work.Ability to support schedule, cost, quality, safety, and risk considerations related to mechanical systems.Experience maintaining project documentation including inspection reports, daily logs, meeting minutes, correspondence, RFIs, submittals, and closeout documentation.Ability to participate in project meetings, site walks, and coordination with contractors, designers, and Government stakeholders.Proficiency with Microsoft Office; experience with Primavera P6, Kahua, or other VA/federal construction management systems preferred.

    Education

    A degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited institution of higher learning and/or demonstrated mechanical engineering experience in a construction or facilities environment.Minimum of 5 years of mechanical engineering experience; healthcare or federal facilities experience strongly preferred.

    Davenergy Solutions is currently seeking an on-site, full-time Licensed Mechanical Engineer – Plumbing (ME-M) "the owner's representative" to support construction management services at a VA Medical Center in Miami, FL. This position provides mechanical and plumbing engineering oversight during the construction phase of major federally funded healthcare infrastructure projects, including utility systems, boiler plants, chiller systems, and associated controls.

    Requirements:Provide on-site mechanical and plumbing engineering support throughout constructionReview mechanical and plumbing design documents, shop drawings, RFIs, and submittalsConduct inspections of installed mechanical and plumbing systems to verify compliance with contract documents, codes, and standardsMonitor construction progress and coordinate activities with contractors, inspectors, and government representativesIdentify deficiencies or non-conforming work and support resolution effortsSupport testing, commissioning, and system turnover activitiesPrepare daily, weekly, and monthly inspection and progress reportsAssist with change orders, cost evaluations, and schedule impacts related to mechanical and plumbing systems

    Relevant Experience

    Education

    Bachelor's degree in construction management, Mechanical Engineering from an accredited University. The Engineer shall be licensed, rated, and current as a Professional Engineer.

    OR

    Educational requirement may be substituted by 10 years of directly related experience. License is required.

    Professional Experience:

    7 years of experience in management of facility construction projects (Utility Boiler Plant on Federal or Healthcare Facilities Preferred) including supervision of engineering, design and construction, schedule control, cost management and program budgeting, and overall project management activities. Professional experience should include the ability to read and interpret construction documents, as well as communicate effectively with project construction team members.

    Functional Responsibility:

    Provides project and/or construction management consultation services of a single major program or project or multiple projects. Provides consultation regarding business, technical and personnel management involving multi-disciplinary and diverse functional activities. Is responsible for the overall management, in terms of technical quality, cost and schedule. Maintains daily progress reports and inspection reports. Supports the inspection and quality assurance team assigned to projects to ensure timely and effective project oversight. Demonstrated knowledge of VA standards, FAR, NFPA, and OSHA requirements. Proficient in reading drawings, specifications, and construction schedules.

    Primary Responsibilities• Perform field inspections to verify construction complies with contract documents, approved submittals, applicable codes, and project requirements. • Assist with shutdown planning and coordination with VA facilities personnel and project stakeholders. • Prepare daily reports documenting construction progress, manpower, work activities, site conditions, and significant events. • Maintain organized project documentation including inspection reports, correspondence, photographs, deficiency logs, and field observations. • Review contractor submittals, RFIs, testing reports, schedules, and proposed changes and provide clear written feedback to the Government. • Assist with punch list development, deficiency tracking, final inspections, and project closeout activities. • Attend project meetings and coordinate with contractors, engineers, VA staff, and other stakeholders. • Assist with special inspections, testing, commissioning, and turnover activities. • Support project safety efforts through field observations and coordination with the Site Safety Manager. • Document field conditions or events that may impact schedule, cost, quality, or operations and communicate observations to the VA.
    Requirements:


    Relevant Experience and Knowledge

    • Experience performing Quality Assurance (QA), Quality Control (QC), inspection, construction management, or owner’s representative services on commercial, healthcare, federal, or institutional construction projects.

    • Familiarity with occupied renovation work, shutdown coordination, phased construction, and stakeholder coordination within active facilities.

    • Working knowledge of commercial construction practices, materials, means and methods, and institutional building systems.

    • Understanding of low-voltage systems and telecommunications infrastructure, including structured cabling, fiber optic systems, pathways, and IDF/MDF room construction.

    • Ability to identify contract compliance concerns and communicate issues clearly and professionally.

    • Strong organizational skills with the ability to maintain accurate records and manage project documentation.

    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and common construction management software applications.

    • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to work professionally in active construction environments.


    Education and Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Information Technology, Electronics Engineering, or a related field preferred. Relevant experience may be considered in lieu of formal education.

    • Minimum of three (3) years of relevant experience in construction management, inspection, quality control, or related IT or data center construction required.


    Physical Requirements

    Must be able to climb permanent and temporary stairs and ladders and safely navigate active construction sites, including uneven surfaces and partially completed work areas. Regular exposure to construction environments with moving mechanical parts, elevated work areas, airborne particles, outdoor weather conditions, and potential electrical hazards. Occasional lifting and carrying of equipment weighing approximately 10–25 lbs. may be required.

    Davenergy Solutions is currently seeking an onsite full-time Construction Manager at the Bedford Veterans Affairs Medical Center (VAMC) in Beford, MA.


    This position serves as Owner’s Representative supporting the Electronic Heath Record Modernization (EHRM) infrastructure upgrades across the Bedford VAMC and to include work at associated annex and CBOCs.



    Requirements:The CM will possess a working knowledge of construction practices and apply this knowledge to implement a Quality Assurance plan with oversite over Quality, Safety, Cost, Change Management, and Information Management required by the Scope of Work. The CM will be familiar with site operations of a General Contractor and Subcontractors and the process of managing a building construction operation.The CM shall be able to understand and master the requirements of the local state and federal jurisdictions and the requirements of each considering the Requirements of the Project.The CM must possess communication, language, and software skills with the ability to utilize a variety of software programs to monitor, such as P6 and PlanGrid, and produce work products by applying knowledge of computer literacy.The CM must have a working experience in monitoring the construction for Quality Assurance (QA).The CM will have the capability of reviewing, preparing and making recommendations on scope of work documents, submittals, schedules, and proposed changes and assist in determining the value of acceptable work in place. The CM will be proficient in Building and Other Code and permitting requirements, materials and methods and Construction processes. They shall have the ability to proactively notify the Government of any violations and/or potential impact.The CM will have the ability to communicate effectively with project team members.

    Relevant Experience

    Experience preparing, analyzing, and identifying incongruities and deficiencies in contractors’ work relative to contract documents, and performing field QA monitoring. Experience reviewing baseline schedules and construction progress schedules, identifying delays, and providing recommendations to the Owner for schedule adjustments. Experience developing or reviewing cost estimates, analyzing GC pay applications, and advising the Owner on budget status and cost trends. Experience producing daily reports, weekly inspection summaries, and written analyses related to RFIs, submittals, schedule updates, and quality assurance surveillance. Healthcare construction experience is preferred; comparable institutional or federal experience is helpful.

    Education

    The CM may possess a degree from an accredited institution of higher learning and/or evidence of work experience or knowledge to compensate for absence of higher education. A minimum of three years (3) years of construction work experience may be substituted and shall be reviewed for acceptability.
