    Senior Embedded Linux Engineer

    You’ll contribute to full-stack embedded development—from writing low-level Linux drivers to bringing up hardware prototypes in the lab. The work involves integrating high-performance camera sensors, wireless communication modules, and real-time subsystems on modern embedded Linux platforms. You'll be part of a small, fast-moving team shipping systems that operate in real environments, not just test benches.


    This is a full-time, exempt position reporting to the VP of Engineering. This position is remote with travel up to 25% to our company headquarters or other locations.


    Key Responsibilities

    Develop and maintain Linux kernel drivers and low-level system software for embedded compute platforms, wireless modules, and custom MIPI image sensorsBuild and integrate software stacks for Wi-Fi and RF communication modules, including power management, firmware bring-up, and regulatory tuningPort and debug embedded Linux builds on Qualcomm Snapdragon platforms (Yocto, AOSP experience a plus)Work with device trees, bootloaders, and system bring-up for new hardware platformsPerform hardware-software integration, including camera tuning, I2C/SPI debug, and scope/logic analyzer workCollaborate with hardware and mechanical teams to validate new designs and support board bring-upSupport integration and troubleshooting efforts for customers using our hardware, including driver-level debugging and system-level recommendationsTroubleshoot and optimize embedded systems for performance, stability, and RF compliance


    Requirements

    The Office Coordinator is a hands-on role working across multiple departments to ensure seamless operations. This position will support and split the work week at two Darkhive locations in San Antonio, Texas.

    Responsibilities:


    Office Facilities

    Welcome and direct facilities vendors (cleaners, maintenance, etc).     The Principal Engineer, Software & Integration Quality Role:

    The Director of Quality Engineering, Hardware Role:

    This is a Hybrid position—candidate is located within commutable distance to San Antonio, TX. Travel is expected to suppliers, manufacturing sites, and partner locations up to 25%-40%.


    Darkhive is seeking a highly capable and hands-on Director of Quality Engineering, Hardware Quality to build and scale our hardware quality and supplier quality capabilities in a fast-paced defense technology environment. This role will report to the VP of Quality.


    This role will be supporting vendor quality and manufacturing operations for complex hardware systems such as PCBAs, embedded compute platforms, RF/communications systems, batteries/power systems, motors and actuation systems, sensors, and autonomous or unmanned systems. Therefore, this role is heavily focused on supplier quality engineering and operational quality execution, while also requiring strong Product Quality Planning (PQP/APQP), Design for Excellence (DFx), and advanced manufacturing quality experience. The ideal candidate is equally comfortable driving supplier corrective actions, influencing engineering and manufacturing decisions, developing scalable quality systems, and operating effectively in dynamic startup environments.


    This is a foundational leadership role responsible for establishing and maturing critical quality processes as the organization scales.     The Senior Commodity Manager, PCBAs and Electrical Components Role:


    The Senior Commodity Manager of PCBAs and Electrical Components is the domain expert and owner of the PCBA, electrical component, and electrical component distributor commodities. This role owns the strategic and tactical supplier relationships across our EMS (Electronics Manufacturing Services) partners, component manufacturers, and authorized distributors — from concept through production and end-of-life.


    The Senior Commodity Manager is accountable for end-to-end commodity performance: supply assurance, cost competitiveness, quality, compliance, BOM health, and supplier readiness for new product development. The role partners closely with Engineering, Quality, Program Management, and Supply Chain to drive supplier performance, mitigate risk, and deliver against program milestones.


    This is a full time, exempt, non-supervisory role reporting to the Vice President of Supply Chain. This role is located in San Antonio, Texas and it is hybrid onsite with travel up to 20% of the time.
