Cyntergy is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Entry-Level Mechanical Engineer to join our multi-discipline engineering team. This role focuses on supporting the design and development of HVAC and Plumbing building systems across a wide range of project types, including commercial, institutional, and government facilities.
The Entry-Level Mechanical Engineer works closely with licensed engineers, designers, and other disciplines to develop coordinated construction documents while building a strong technical foundation through mentorship and hands-on project experience. This position is ideal for a recent graduate or early-career engineer eager to learn, grow, and advance toward professional licensure.
Key Responsibilities Assist in the design and layout of HVAC and plumbing systems under the direction of licensed engineers. Perform engineering calculations, including heating and cooling loads, ventilation analysis, and equipment sizing. Develop construction documents, including drawings, schedules, and details, using industry-standard software. Assist with HVAC system design including air distribution, hydronic systems, and equipment selection. Support plumbing system design including domestic water, sanitary, and storm systems. Coordinate design efforts with architectural, structural, electrical, and other engineering disciplines. Participate in internal design reviews and quality control processes to ensure accuracy and consistency. Support project planning, scope development, and schedule adherence. Assist with construction administration activities, including responding to RFIs and reviewing submittals. Learn and apply applicable codes, standards, and best practices related to mechanical building systems. Qualifications Required Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Architectural Engineering, or a closely related field. 0-4 years of experience in mechanical engineering, HVAC design, plumbing design, or MEP consulting (internships and co-ops included). Fundamental understanding of HVAC and plumbing systems. Familiarity with AutoCAD, Revit (BIM), and Microsoft Excel; exposure to load calculation or energy analysis tools is a plus. Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, team-oriented environment. Preferred Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification or intent to obtain. Interest in pursuing Professional Engineer (PE) licensure. Exposure to building codes and standards (IMC, ASHRAE, IPC, etc.). Internship or co-op experience in an A/E or MEP consulting environment. Our Civil Engineering Team is continuing to pursue excellent, challenging and a diverse work portfolio by building a strong civil team. ACTIVITIES - Civil Designer
Utilize AutoCAD Civil 3D software to create and modify site plans, grading and drainage layouts, utility layouts, and construction documents. Work with Civil Engineer to conduct site analysis, and integrate topographical surveys and geotechnical data, to inform design decisions. Ensure designs comply with local, state and federal regulations and codes. Work closely with project managers, engineers, architects and other team members to develop project specifications and budgets. Communicate with clients to understand their needs, present design options, and address any concerns. Perform quality checks and reviews of own work to ensure accuracy and completeness. Create and maintain accurate project documentation, including drawings, calculations, and reports. Provide support during the construction phase, including responding to RFIs, and reviewing shop drawings. Stay updated on library trends and advancements in AutoCAD Civil 3D software and site civil design practices.

Train and mentor production staff on construction details, code compliance, and document standards. Monitor and report the status of MDQC efforts across all projects.
EXPERIENCE YOU'LL NEED TO HAVE
Extensive coordination of multi-discipline construction documents, specifications, and project narratives. Familiarity with building codes and accessibility compliance. Bluebeam or PDF review session experience. Familiarity with Autodesk REVIT and/or AutoCAD, MS Office, Teams, Smartsheets. Effective oral and written communication. Licensed architect or engineer preferred.
