OVERVIEW The Inbound-Outbound Supervisor is responsible for overseeing a wide variety of activities including inbound-outbound, documentation and reports, and operating various machinery daily. People management responsibilities include hiring and training, planning and assigning daily work, conducting performance appraisals, addressing performance issues, and resolving problems. This position reports to the Assistant Warehouse Manager and the Senior Warehouse Manager and will interact on a regular basis with sales, administration, customer service, and management staff. This position works cooperatively with others. RESPONSIBILITIES Determine schedules and assignments for work activities, based on work priority, quantity of equipment, and skill level of staff. Supervise employees performing inbound, receiving, and picking processes for the organization. Partner and regularly update Warehouse Supervisor and Manager on status of projects, updates on process flows and providing solutions and suggestions to make improvements. Responsible for reviewing, assessing and updating the outbound process, documentation, and report generation needs. Responsible for reviewing, assessing and updating the inbound container process, documentation and report generation needs such as packaging, logs and other ad hoc needs. Monitors received products and outbound orders to ensure proper condition, pallet configuration, labels, and customer specific requirements are being met. Regularly operate an RF scanner within our WMS system, D365 F O, ensuring accurate data information is obtained and recorded. Operates heavy equipment (forklifts/clamp and reach truck/pallet jacks) daily to move materials. Manages the loaded and shipped process to ensure quality and accuracy standards are met. Enforce warehouse safety regulations and housekeeping practices and encourage employees to become safety conscious. Proactively manages and communicates high-priority orders for critical customer POs (cross-dock priority). Maintain current knowledge of organizational policies and procedures, federal and state policies and directives. Establish proper authority relationships among members of the work group and create a congenial work environment. Attract and retain high-quality staff, providing training, assessing strengths and development needs, and providing timely and specific feedback and helpful coaching. Monitors and identifies facility related issues; communicates building maintenance needs with appropriate person; greets and serves as on-site contact for various contractors and suppliers. Reviews office cleaning services and schedules, communicating proactively to maintain building integrity. Work diplomatically and effectively across cross-functional teams. Attendance is an essential function of this position. Performing all other duties as assigned. REQUIREMENTS Associate of Arts degree preferred but not required. Minimum two years of warehouse experience in relevant industry. High school diploma and four years experience may be substituted Intermediate level understanding of Warehouse Management Systems – D365 F O (RF scanner). Ability to prioritize workload and manage an in-bound team for maximum performance and turn around. Ability to multi-task with a deep knowledge of product information, inventory counts, WHSE locations, and order assembly. Able to lift to 30 lbs. overhead and 100 lbs. with the proper equipment. The capacity to learn how to operate a forklift safely. Ability to work cross-functionally with customer support/order management. Professional written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills that produce desired results. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from internal and external customers which include coworkers, managers, customers, regulatory agencies, and vendors. Capable reading and interpreting information, such as reports, general correspondence and policy guidelines, with the ability to share with others as needed. Ability to use a computer and standard business and other work-related software with minimal instruction. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, fractions and decimals. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing these duties the person is regularly required to walk, stand, bend, climb stairs, kneel, or crouch and successfully demonstrate the ability to write or use a computer or other electronic devices and operate a variety of hand and power tools. Employees in this position may need to regularly lift at least [30 lbs. and up to 80] pounds occasionally and may need to exert themselves while performing the above-mentioned duties. Perform a variety of physical labor including climbing ladders, bending, kneeling, reaching and standing for long periods of time. Also includes being able to lift boxes, tools, equipment and materials. Ability to drive a car and travel to worksites.
