Material Handler/Forklift Operator
General Duties & Functions
Operates logistics equipment safely and in accordance with specifications, schedules, safety targets, and quality standardsReceives incoming goods, check for damage and for discrepancies between goods and invoicesPicks orders, pack, receive, and dispatch outgoing goods according to ordersTroubleshoots day-to-day shop floor logistics flow issues pertaining to the delivery and retrieval of raw material and finished goodsLoads and unloads delivery trucks - periodically requiring physical moving and lifting of product weighing up to 50lbsDesignates and organize warehouse stock by product skew and by physical alignment, allowing sufficient space for forklift maneuverability and for overflow of raw material and finished goods storageCompiles and submits regular reports of damaged, outdated stock or supplies, over and under shipments, return of products to vendor, etc. and segregate defective product from normal flow of inventoryAssists in verifying all incoming and outgoing products for accuracy in terms of amount, size and typeNotifies leadership of inventory and supply shortages as well as assisting in actual periodic inventory countsOperates powered industrial vehicles (forklifts, pallet jacks, order pickers, etc.) in a safe manner and maintain an operator license, if requiredEnters data into logistics management systems to maintain up-to-date records and retrieve stored information to respond to inquiriesSkills/Qualifications
Experience driving/operating a forklift, retrieving and delivering material in tight places and narrow aisles, loading and unloading semi-trailers and operating a forklift in a high bay storage facilityAbility to maintain good production flow by processing raw materials and finished good tires promptly and reacting to non-compliances and changes quicklyPossess basic computer data entry skills, including the ability to operate and load simple computer programs as required using logistics management systemsAbility to operate with speed and accuracyDemonstrates team spirit, shows flexibility and positive attitude as an active team contributorDemonstrates the ability to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environmentDemonstrates problem solving skills, is able to recognize and appropriately escalate issues when situations ariseAbility to successfully complete the pre-hire basic skills test and assessmentsAbility to successfully pass pre-employment background check, physical exam and drug screenMust be legally authorized to work in the United StatesEducation and/or Experience
High School Diploma or GED required1 to 2 years of experience in a high bay logistics/warehouse storage environment preferredPhysical Requirements and Demands
Must be able to tolerate odor from raw materials, freshly cured tires and hot materialsFrequent reaching, grasping, bending, and stooping,Frequent pulling and/or pushing up to 20 lbs independently, and occasional pushing and/or pulling up to 35 lb independently, and greater weights with mechanical automation assistanceMust be able to frequently lift and/or move up to 20 lbs independently, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 35 lbs independently, and greater weights with mechanical automation assistanceMust be able to frequently engage in repetitive motions requiring substantial movement of the wrist, hands and/or fingersAdequate vision to read work instructions, job aids and guides, and detect imperfections in raw materials, tooling and finished productAbility to work in environment with limited climate control and varied temperature levelsMust be able to communicate effectively in an environment with continual noise, requiring the ability to hear, understand and communicateThe Commercial Electrician for this short-term assignment will focus on electrical tasks supporting retail store projects. Reporting to the site supervisor, the electrician will perform installations, wiring, troubleshooting, and maintenance while ensuring safety and compliance on site. This role requires local travel to various retail locations and is expected to last less than three months.
