General Duties & Functions
* Performs assigned activities on production line(s), including operation of equipment in accordance with work and safety instructions as well as production specifications and schedules
* Performs tasks efficiently and with high attention to detail, ensuring achievement of volume, cost, and safety targets, as well as quality standards
* Serves as a resource to others by sharing information, production techniques and demonstrating functional tasks to assist newly assigned team members
* Assists in troubleshooting of shop floor problems pertaining to equipment, machines, raw materials, and design
* Monitors equipment, tools, process and systems to anticipate and/or detect non-routine issues that could lead to equipment malfunction, production delays and/or quality related matters
* Loads materials into production systems in a timely and efficient manner, operates automation and production control systems as assigned
* Maintains clean and orderly work area and production equipment, ensuring adherence to health and safety requirements
* Openly and proactively shares feedback and recommendations with leaders for continual improvement in production operations, operating procedures and processes
* Lifts materials and tools manually as needed to position for proper machine loading, unloading and inspection
Skills/Qualifications
* Ability to load and unload material from manual and automated equipment with little supervision
* Possess basic computer and data entry skills, including the ability to operate and load simple computer programs as required to run production equipment
* Demonstrates team spirit, shows flexibility and positive attitude as an active team contributor
* Demonstrates the ability to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment
* Demonstrates problem solving skills, is able to recognize and appropriately escalate issues when situations arise
* Ability to successfully complete pre-hire basic skills tests and assessments
* Ability to successfully pas pre-employment background check, physical exam and drug screening
* Must be legally authorized to work in the United States
Education and/or Experience
* High School Diploma or GED required
* Associate’s degree from an accredited community, technical or vocational college preferred
* 1 to 2 years direct experience in a manufacturing environment preferred
* Lean / process improvement tools experience and/or interest in advancing knowledge in this area
Physical Requirements and Demands
* Must be able to remain in a stationary position throughout assigned working hours
* Frequent reaching, grasping, bending, and stooping
* Must be able to tolerate odor from raw materials, freshly cured tires and hot materials
* Frequent pulling and/or pushing up to 20 lbs. independently, and occasional pushing and/or pulling up to 35 lbs. independently, and greater weights with mechanical automation assistance
* Must be able to frequently lift and/or move up to 20 lbs. independently, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 35 lbs. independently, and greater weights with mechanical automation assistance
* Must be able to frequently engage in repetitive motions requiring substantial movement of the wrist, hands and/or fingers
* Adequate vision to read work instructions, job aids and guides, and detect imperfections in raw materials, tooling and finished product
* Ability to work in environment with limited climate control and varied temperature levels
* Must be able to communicate effectively in an environment with continual noise, requiring the ability to hear, understand and communicate work instructions and directions while wearing company provided hearing protection
* Must be able to be frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts, electrical equipment mechanical equipment and vibration

Navigate and utilize SAP to perform essential job duties.Read and interpret product drawings to perform inspections.Approve incoming materials by confirming specifications and conducting visual and dimensional inspections.Approve in-process production by confirming specifications and conducting visual and dimensional inspections.Approve finished products by confirming specifications and conducting visual and dimensional inspections.Document inspection results by completing defect reports.Review and interpret design specifications, criteria, and requirements from production drawings (components, piping, wire schematics, and assemblies) to accurately validate variance data for inspected materials and products.Review and verify Bills of Material (BOM), order confirmations, job folders, SAP entries, and related documentation.Verify installed components meet customer specifications and expectations.Maintain and control personal inspection equipment to ensure proper use and calibration.Maintain a safe and healthy work environment by following company policies, procedures, and applicable regulatory requirements.Verify Engineering Change Notices (ECNs) and related documentation affecting product standards and specifications and ensure changes are correctly applied.Initiate and submit Change Requests and Temporary Deviation Requests to Manufacturing Engineering.Complete and organize quality assurance records and documentation to maintain accurate manufacturing and inspection records.Assist in the development and revision of QA Travelers.Communicate required adjustments with appropriate departments to resolve documentation, hardware, and assembly nonconformance issues.Participate in 5S and continuous improvement initiatives.Mentor Quality Assurance Inspectors I and II, as well as new employees.Demonstrate safe work practices and promote a safe working environment.Accomplish quality and organizational objectives by completing related duties and special assignments.Maintain a clear understanding of production sub-assembly areas, receiving inspections, and sheet metal processes.Qualifications
