    Custom Engineering Co. is a premier single source supplier specializing in the manufacturing of large-scale metal fabrications. We are currently seeking 1st and 2nd shift Full-time Machine Operator with experience in the steel industry to join our team at our Erie, PA location. The position offers an hourly rate of up to $22.00 BOE ($2.00 2nd shift differential) and the benefits shown below.     MACHINE OPERATOR RESPONSIBILITIES: (Included, but not limited to)

    Set up and remove work pieces from a machine per procedureProficiently use measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, dial indicators and gauges to ensure conformance of specified tolerancesAbility to perform in-process inspections at a machine and adjust various offsets to ensure conformance of workpieces as requiredPosition and secure workpieces on machines using measuring instruments, holding devices, hand tools, and cranesStudy blueprints, lay outs, sketches, and work orders to determine tolerances and work proceduresAbility to recognize tooling types facemill, drill, taps, etc. Requirements: Knowledge of addition, subtraction, fractions, decimals and calculate tooling speeds/feedsPrior machining experienceKnowledge in general machining practicesCrane and forklift experienceAbility to read and understand documents and blueprintsAbility to use hand tools (calipers, micrometers, dial indicators, tape measure, etc.)Ability to lift 50 pounds to insert tooling, materials, and use lifting devices

    We are currently seeking 1st and 2nd shift Welder / Fitter for plate and structural fabrication work. $19.00- $23.00 ( $2.00 2nd shift differential)

    Basic knowledge of fitting plate, structural material and pipe utilizing shop drawings, specifications and travelersUse torches to cut/cope beams, cut/bevel plates and heat straighten partsKnowledge of fitting and welding various materials; carbon steel, stainless steel, inconel and aluminumWelding processes may include; Flux-cored Arc Welding (FCAW), Metal-cored Arc Welding (MCAW), Gas Metal Arc Welding (MIG), Shielded Metal Arc Welding (Stick), Gas Tungsten Arc Welding (TIG) and Submerged Arc Weld (SAW)Perform welding in the flat, horizontal and vertical positionsProduce consistent welds in accordance with shop drawings and customer specificationsFollow welding procedure specifications (WPS) to set up welding machines and check weld sizes with company-issued weld gagesRun overhead cranes and forklifts when necessary to move parts throughout the shop
