Overview
Custom Components & Assemblies, Inc. is a growing precision job shop in Houston running 10 CNC machines (6 mills, 4 lathes).
We are hiring a Day Shift CNC Setup Machinist who can set up, run, and troubleshoot parts in a high-mix, fast-paced environment.
If you can walk up to a print, set the job up, dial it in, and keep it running — this is your shop.
⏱ Schedule
Monday – Friday (Day Shift)Overtime available depending on workload
Equipment You’ll Work With
6 CNC Mills (primarily Fanuc-style controls)4 CNC LathesJob shop environment (high-mix, low-to-mid volume work)
This is important — we are not a production-only shop. Frequent setups are expected.
Key Responsibilities
Set up and operate CNC mills and lathesInterpret blueprints and GD&TSelect tooling, set offsets, fixtures, and prove out jobsHold tight tolerances (±.001 or better where required)Inspect parts using calipers, micrometers, gaugesTroubleshoot machining and tooling issuesMaintain efficiency across multiple setups

3+ years CNC machining experienceAbility to independently perform setupsStrong blueprint reading skillsExperience holding tight tolerancesComfortable in a job shop (changing setups regularly)
