Job Title: Machining Supervisor

Shift Schedule: Monday-Friday (A & B Shifts Available)
Position: Non-Exempt, Full-Time
Base Pay Rate: $25.00 to $32/hr., plus overtime compensation, and shift differential % for B shift only, on top of base rate.
Job Summary:
As the Shift Production Supervisor, you will be responsible for the daily leadership, scheduling, technical support, and operational performance of the machining department. You'll work closely with Manufacturing, Engineering, Quality, and Production Planning to ensure customer requirements are met while maintaining exceptional quality, safety, and productivity standards.
Job Responsibilities:
Lead the daily operations of the machining Department to achieve production schedules, delivery commitments, and departmental performance goals.Coordinate workflow, staffing, machine capacity, and priorities to maximize productivity while maintaining quality standards.Monitor production throughout each shift and proactively address bottlenecks that could impact customer deliveries.Evaluate workloads and adjust staffing and machine utilization based on changing production demands.Track department performance using key production metrics and recommend improvements.Ensure all machined components meet engineering drawings, customer specifications, and aerospace quality requirements.Verify compliance with blueprint specifications, geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T), and process documentation.Support first article inspections, in-process inspections, and final inspections as required.Drive initiatives focused on reducing scrap, rework, and non-conforming product.Promote a culture of quality and continuous process verification throughout production.Provide day-to-day leadership, coaching, mentoring, and technical guidance to CNC machinists and operators.Assign work based on production priorities, employee skill level, and machine availability.Train new employees while supporting the continued development of experienced machinists.Assist with employee performance evaluations, skill development plans, and cross-training initiatives.Foster a positive, collaborative, and accountable team environment focused on safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
Job Qualifications:
Must be able to Program, set up, troubleshoot, and optimize CNC machines for complex machined components.Over 6 years of experience operating, setting up, and programming CNC mill, lathe, turn machines.Skilled with precision measuring equipment and tools, required.Must have prior supervisory experience responsible for managing various CNC shift schedules, ensuring coverage, performance reviews, training and mentoring machinists, ensuring quality output and machine uptime is being met.Must be able to edit and improve CNC programs utilizing G-code and M-code while identifying opportunities to reduce cycle times and improve process efficiency.Select appropriate tooling, cutting parameters, fixtures, and machining strategies to maximize productivity and tool life.Troubleshoot machining issues, equipment malfunctions, tooling concerns, and process inconsistencies while minimizing downtime.Partner with Manufacturing Engineering to improve machining processes, manufacturability, and production efficiency.Able to read and interpret engineering blueprints, GD&T to meet customer specifications.High School Diploma, GED, or Technical School Certification Training, required.
