Projects complexity may integrate several areas of engineering and require limited management of outside design professionals and contractors. ~ Provides troubleshooting of the facility infrastructure and production equipment to support production, manufacturing, distribution and maintenance operations. ~ Provides life, safety and building code analysis and supports and implements programs within the organization to prevent injuries and illnesses.     Position Summary

    We are seeking an experienced Senior Maintenance HVAC Technician to support HVAC and critical environmental control systems within a GMP pharmaceutical/biotechnology manufacturing facility. This position is responsible for maintaining reliable, compliant, and efficient HVAC operations across cleanrooms, laboratories, and production areas while ensuring compliance with FDA, EU GMP, and ISO standards.

    The ideal candidate will serve as the HVAC subject matter expert, leading troubleshooting efforts, supporting validation activities, optimizing system performance, mentoring junior technicians, and collaborating with Quality, Engineering, Manufacturing, and EHS teams.

    Key Responsibilities

    Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on HVAC equipment including: Air Handling Units (AHUs) Chillers Boilers Heat exchangers VAV systems Exhaust systems Dehumidifiers Split systems Maintain cleanroom environmental conditions including: Temperature Humidity Differential pressure Airflow HEPA filtration Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize Building Management Systems (BMS), Environmental Monitoring Systems (EMS), and SCADA platforms. Perform calibration of HVAC sensors including temperature, humidity, pressure, and airflow devices. Support HVAC qualification activities including IQ, OQ, and PQ documentation. Investigate HVAC deviations and environmental excursions using Root Cause Analysis (5 Why, Fishbone) and implement CAPA. Maintain GMP-compliant documentation including maintenance records, SOPs, calibration reports, and work orders. Support FDA and internal audits by maintaining validated HVAC systems and complete maintenance records. Improve HVAC efficiency through energy optimization initiatives, control strategies, and system upgrades. Plan HVAC shutdowns, preventive maintenance, contractor coordination, and capital projects. Ensure compliance with safety procedures including: Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) Confined Space Hot Work Arc Flash EPA refrigerant handling requirements Mentor junior technicians on HVAC troubleshooting, GMP practices, and SOP compliance. Manage spare parts inventory and utilize CMMS for preventive maintenance planning. Collaborate with Manufacturing, Validation, Facilities Engineering, Quality, and Operations teams.

    Required Qualifications

    Education

    Technical diploma or accredited apprenticeship in HVAC, Mechanical, or Building Services Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Building Engineering is a plus
