  • Manufacturing Systems Engineer

    Job DescriptionJob DescriptionSummaryThe CLC Systems Engineer is accountable for managing and supporting the clerical work for PPAP from an engineering standpoint and engineering change order initiations with facilitation for timely completions.  This includes working with the external customers, and the internal stakeholders. The Systems Engineer reports to the Engineering Manager or Supervisor, where applicable.Essential Duties and Responsibilities·       Responsible for PPAP tasks with relation to engineering responsibilities.·       Work closely with the Program Launch Engineer to develop documentation successfully.·       Primary owner of program launch preproduction build management and schedules.·       Work closely with engineering coordinators for task completion on documentation and builds.·       Maintain content from an engineering perspective for customer and supplier portals as appropriate.·       Primary contact for clerical work on engineering change orders including system submissions.·       Ensure manuscripts for changes are in place to support production teams and customers.·       Manage program-specific internal communications. Ensure all associates have the information needed to do their job. Shield the organization from confusion.·       Ensure leadership is informed of program changes.·       Participate in Best Practices process improvements.·       Facilitate changes on the production floor with manufacturing and mechanical engineers.·       Primary resource contact for new and transfer program input to the MRP systems.·       Support new launch and continual improvement teams with data submissions as applicable.·       Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal laws and statutes, and other governmental regulations which are directly applicable to the company.·       Ensure production process meets quoted parameters (cycle time, direct labor, OEE) at time of Run at Rate.·       Oversee development of standard operational and working practices and observe associates to ensure compliance with standards.·       Support IATF 16949 initiatives.Technical Expectations·       Understand manufacturing processes.·       Excellent knowledge of manufacturing processes, equipment, and tooling.·       Familiarity with MS Office suite, databases, spreadsheets, word processing, and program timelines.General Requirements·       Work independently under direction from leadership. The Program Launch Engineer reports to the Engineering Manager or Supervisor, where applicable. The Program Launch Engineer is responsible for protecting the Plant and satisfying the Customer. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES · Responsible for launch aspects of program management for programs.· Work closely with the Program Managers to develop and launch the program successfully.· Lead launch teams of Manufacturing Engineers / Technicians, Quality, Materials, Operations, and Production.· Primary owner of Program Launch Readiness.· Schedule and oversee delivery and installation of new launch equipment.· Schedule and oversee early program builds.· Ensure material is available to support early program builds.· Ensure Work Instructions, Production Boards, etc. are in place to support program launch schedule.· Manage Program-specific internal communications. Ensure all associates have the information needed to do their job.
