Overview
• Work Monday-Friday hours between 5:30-7:00am to 3:00-4:30pm
• Installing Post and Beam Barns, Carriage Houses, Sheds, & other outbuildings throughout New England
Responsibilities
• Installing wooden structures such as roofing, frames, rafters, partitions, joists, and stud work
• Installing various roofing underlayment and material, completing asphalt, cedar, and metal roofing
• Fits and installs windows, window frames, doors, door frames, door hardware, siding, floors, stairs, interior and exterior trim.
• Erects scaffolding and ladders for assembling structures above ground levels.
• Designing and installing cabinets, shelving, fitted furniture, insulation, and other add-ons as requested.
• Adding fixtures and fittings such as door handles, locks, hinges, and closures
• Shapes or cuts materials to specified measurements, using hand tools, machines, or power saws.
• Calculating the number of fasteners required for each job
• Liaising with clients, suppliers, other construction professionals, and office personnel
• Reading blueprints and designs to work to specifications prepared by other construction professionals, architects and building code requirements
• Moves necessary materials around jobsite as assigned.
• Cleans up worksite debris.
• Follows established safety rules and regulations and maintaining a safe and clean environment.
Qualifications
• 5 years of Proven Carpentry Experience
• Must have reliable transportation
• Must have your own hand tools and nail bag
• Experience with Post and Beam construction preferred but not required
• Capable of receiving and following instructions and communicating with co-workers
• Able to read and adhere to labels, safety warnings, and guidelines
• Attentive to detail and always alert to ensure safety
• Good understanding of basic math
• Good physical condition and endurance
