Prioritizes production schedules based on product introduction, equipment efficiency Directs subordinates to achieve assignments using established guidelines, procedures, and policies. May interact with subordinate supervisors, outside customers, and functional peer groups at management levels. Interaction normally requires the ability to gain cooperation of others, conducting presentations of technical information concerning specific projects/schedules, etc. Provides immediate supervision to a unit or group of employees, assigning tasks, and checking work at frequent intervals. A portion of time is normally spent performing individual tasks related to the unit or sub-unit. Encompasses the direction and inspection of the performance of individuals who assemble components in an industrial environment. Key Responsibilities: Drive department strategies based on plant objectives and provide guidance and direction for the successful implementation of those plans. Manages the shift activities of the production departments Responsible for monitoring and improving performance metrics for multiple production departments. Conducts daily department meetings with cross functional representation Works within department and other functional groups on resolution of quality, performance, or downtime issues in a timely fashion. Participates or leads cost reduction projects to meet production goals, quality, and cost objectives. Support the plant's change management program Provides training to employees as needed on new processes, procedures, or equipment. Ensure employee focus through communication of priorities. Create and maintain positive, motivating employee relations aligned with corporate and business values. Sustain open communications with employees both one-on-one and in group forums. Maintain and implement all required safety regulations and housekeeping standards on a consistent basis. Assists and/or leads in the performance of investigations and resolutions of manufacturing issues that affect product or process performance. Support the ISO 9000 and AS9100 standards. Corning's Display Technologies segment manufactures glass substrates for active matrix liquid crystal displays ("LCDs") that are used primarily in LCD televisions, notebook computers and flat panel desktop monitors. The purpose of this position is: Performs multiple tasks to accomplish the production and packaging of molded products, including the manual assembly operations of all CellCulture products. This position requires strict attention to inspection criteria, SOP's, and production data to ensure the quality of the final products. This position will work with a variety of production equipment, measurement equipment, gauges, leak checkers, welders, vision system, TCT, and cell bind treaters and sealers. This position requires the ability to work independently, make quality decisions concerning manufactured products, and produce parts at the expected production rate. This position includes significant duties such as: Follows standard operating procedures for the entire process: molding, assembly, accessorizing, and packout. Assembles/packages goods at the standard rate. Performs all necessary quality control checks as well as continually checks product for defects. Maintains accurate production counts. Performs inventory of all products and components in area. Checks for proper materials to build product. Performs final QA with quality department to inspect final packout. Maintains necessary records, including documents that require initials/signatures according to GMP and ISO requirements. Fills out daily inspection sheets, including sub lot numbers and lot numbers after verification of lot issuance program for traceability. Assists with setups and changeovers as required. Reports improper operation, unsafe conditions, defective materials, and any unusual conditions to the Supervisor/Team Leader. Builds sample orders as required. Checks to assure all gauges are in proper working order. Maintains work area and equipment in a clean, safe, and orderly condition. Properly uses Personnel Protective Equipment. Works with chemicals such as Isopropyl Alcohol and Loctite. Interacts with customers during visits. Follows established company rules and regulations and maintains quality standards. Working Conditions: Good working conditions. Education: High School Diploma or General Education Diploma required. The range for this position is $24.00 hourly rate - $27.38 hourly rate. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education.
