    Job Summary:
    The Emergency Services (ES) Primary Advocate is responsible for providing advocacy, support, and information to victims/survivors of domestic violence, sexual violence and/or human trafficking/sexual exploitation accessing Cornerstone’s (CAS) 24/7 shelter/hotel, crisis line, and walk-in services. This advocacy position utilizes trauma-informed, survivor-centered, and culturally responsive practices to provide supportive wraparound services for participants. The services are inclusive of safety and goal planning, arrangements for Cornerstone’s internal and community external services, and survivor-led advocacy with systems such as housing, social services, medical, immigration, and civil/criminal justice. The ES Primary Advocate works within a team setting to maintain a welcoming, safe, clean, accessible, and inclusive environment for the families and people we serve.

    Hours/Scheduling:

    This is a full-time position which requires flexible scheduling to support participants’ schedules and needs. Shifts may include evenings and weekends as assigned by the supervisor. This position includes an on-call rotating schedule to assist with after-hours staff support and direct service coverage.     Job Summary:
    The CCJI Advocate position provides trauma informed, survivor-centered, and culturally responsive services to victims/survivors of domestic and sexual violence and sex trafficking. Advocacy responsibilities include providing civil and criminal legal advocacy services to victims/survivors in a knowledgeable, empathetic manner. This position assists with the navigation of working with local law enforcement, prosecutors, probation officers, judges, court personnel and systems professionals to meet the needs of all victims/survivors.

    Experience/Qualifications:
    Bachelor’s degree in human service, social work, psychology, criminal justice or related field or comparable combination of career and life experiences. A minimum of 1-2 years’ experience working within the anti-violence field and/or systems (e.g. criminal justice, social services, etc.). Completion of 40 Hour Sexual Assault Advocacy training required within first 3-6 months of employment.

    Hours/Schedule: This is a full-time flexible position, working 40 hours a week.  Schedule includes working Monday – Friday between the hours of 8am-5pm.     Job Summary:
    The SOAR afterschool program hosted by Cornerstone Advocacy Service is a youth program that will focus on building socio-emotional skills and fueling creative outlets for school-aged children who have experienced domestic violence and/or general crime.

    Interns will assist in providing care, leadership, and support for youth participating in the SOAR afterschool program. This will include assisting children with schoolwork, supervising both structured and unstructured activity time, and creating unique inclusive socio-emotional lesson plans.

    All Interns will also be required to participate in (free) mandatory training and onboarding sessions to learn Cornerstone specific policies along with specific trauma-informed care practices. This position is unpaid.

    Experience/Qualifications:
    Has a high school diploma or GED equivalent required. Students who are studying Early Education, Psychology, Child and Educational Psychology, and Social Work programs are preferred. Those who have had experience working with Youth and/or are looking for nonprofit experience are encouraged to apply, regardless of college enrollment status.

    Essential Functions:Available for orientation on January 5th, and complete digital training by January 10th. Programming will start the week of January 12th and work through May 11th. Available for 6-12 hours a week on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 2:30-6:30, and/or Saturdays from 10:30am-3:30pm. Able to provide childcare/youth supervision and support to school-aged children. Help with homework, school projects, and/or tutoring for youth during homework time. Assist volunteers from outside organizations in supervising and running their programs (Free Arts, STEM, Phys Ed, Engineering, etc.,). Develop and/or assist in developing age-appropriate activities and lesson plans that will teach this population of youth skills in socio-emotional health, well-being, or coping/regulatory skills. Intervene during youth conflicts, disagreements, or disinterest using developmentally appropriate and trauma-informed tactics.  Learn and maintain knowledge of trauma-informed and culturally aware care that is specific to family and youth work. Engage with youth and their interests, activities, and play. Offer trauma-informed and culturally aware advice and advocacy to children when they ask for it and/or know when to bring concerns to the Childcare and Education Specialist.
    Administrative and Organizational Skills:Able to keep track and log attendance each session.Keep Cornerstone Staff aware of any concerns regarding a child and/or family’s immediate safety.Accurately log the number of meals and snacks distributed amongst families during pick-up time.Accurately track when families are arriving to pick up their youth and following SOAR policies when families are late. Attend bi-weekly supervisor check-ins and team meetings.Work in a team setting with other interns that prioritizes collaboration, inclusivity, and child-centered thinking.

    Job Summary:
    This position is responsible for all duties related to the daily oversight and supervision of Cornerstone’s Civil and Criminal Justice Intervention (CCJI) programming. The CCJI Supervisor will provide leadership to assure CCJI staff provide a comprehensive trauma-informed and survivor-centered service including advocacy, support, information and referral to victims/survivors. This leadership role includes on-going program service efficacy in the promotion of successful and innovative services, as well as consistent supervision and support to Cornerstone’s CCJI team. The CCJI Supervisor will work with local law enforcement, prosecutors, probation officers, and judges to meet the needs of all victims/survivors who are seeking civil remedies to enhance safety or are involved in the criminal justice process as it relates to domestic and sexual violence, and trafficking. This position will also provide direct services through legal advocacy in criminal matters to victims of domestic abuse, sexual assault and trafficking in a knowledgeable, empathetic manner. 

    Experience/Qualifications:Excellent written communication skills.Advanced interpersonal communication skills with enthusiasm for learning and sharing information; ability to work with staff and participants in a friendly, cooperative, and professional manner.Proficiency in employee supervision and team building.Comprehensive understanding of the human services delivery system including community resources, organizations, and services with an emphasis on serving diverse, marginalized and/or underrepresented communities.Leadership and ability in assessing, problem solving, deescalating, and communicating in a calm, trauma informed way with participants in crisis. Experience in developing and providing staff/volunteer/intern trainings both individually and in a group setting.     Education:
    Minimum of bachelor’s degree in social work, criminal justice, or equivalent experience in an advocacy services field; minimum of 5 years of experience providing direct services and support to individuals in crisis within the criminal justice system; and a minimum of 2 years of experience providing leadership and staff supervision in an environment that is responsive to individuals who have experienced trauma. Knowledge and experience in working with diverse, marginalized, and underrepresented communities, and anti-oppression work.

    Staff Supervision, Coaching, Mentoring and Human Resources (50%)Provides ongoing supervision, training and onboarding, and mentoring of staff, volunteers, and interns, with an emphasis on the civil and criminal justice system, general crime victimization issues and services available to victims/survivors.Oversees advocates’ work with participants throughout Criminal and Civil Justice process-maintaining staff accountability for all service implementation, including legal advocacy, education, and support services to individuals referred into the CCJI program. Provides oversight to scheduling and coverage issues within partner cities.Creates and maintains resource, referral, and training materials to keep CCJI staff current with all information needed to perform their jobs effectively.Solicits staff input into improvement for overall program functions.Ensure that all staff, volunteers, and interns employ best practices related to data privacy and confidentiality.  Maintains accurate employee records including timesheet review, supervision/coaching sessions, schedules and other related duties as assigned by supervisor. Work closely with CCJI Manager and HR on employee issues and concerns.

    Leadership and Oversight (20%)In partnership with the CCJI Manager, provide leadership and oversight of the daily operations of CCJI services.Maintain knowledge of current statewide and local trends in service delivery of criminal and civil justice intervention services to develop strategies and programming to meet the changing needs of participants. Ensure that CCJI staff models Day One best practices in referrals, updating and relationships.Provide leadership and role modeling in providing professional, confidential and trauma informed responses and services for participants in CCJI programing.Ensures the CCJI staff maintain professional demeanor while generating public awareness and trauma-informed, survivor centered services for victims of crime. Proactively work with all leadership positions to coach, guide, and/or advise advocates on how they can directly address individual participants’ needs, concerns, resources, and potential crises.Work to create and sustain strong internal team environment within the program and across programs that creates streamlined trauma informed and survivor-centered internal referrals and resources for participants. In partnership with the CCJI Manager, oversee the creation and maintenance of resources, referrals, and training manuals to keep CCJI advocates current with all information needed to perform their jobs effectively.  Oversee and strengthen relationships with other organizations providing co-advocacy services for participants.Provide leadership and mentorship in maintaining accountability of high-quality services and decision making, including oversight of proper documentation for services. Work in collaboration with development in the grant writing/reporting process.Assist with developing trainings and presenting for community partners and community requests.Other responsibilities as deemed necessary by supervisor to support and enhance the CCJI program and the organization.

    Direct Services (30%)
    CivilAssist victims/survivors in writing Orders for Protection/Harassment Restraining Orders including modifications, extensions, dismissals, and subsequent orders.Prepare victims/survivors for what to expect at civil court hearings and assist with communicating with court personnel.Serve as an advocate for victims/survivors in civil court proceedings such as Orders for Protection and Harassment Restraining Order hearings.Train and support other staff at Cornerstone in the writing of Orders for Protection/Harassment Restraining Orders.
    CriminalServe as an advocate for victim/survivors through the criminal justice process.Function as a liaison between the victim/survivor and the criminal justice systemMake daily intervention calls to victims/survivors upon receiving police reports to provide safety planning, education about the criminal court process and their crime victim rights, and make referrals. Provide all relevant information to victims/survivors to facilitate their involvement in every court appearance.Attend criminal court to provide victim input to city prosecutors.Notify victim/survivors of court orders/appearances/case status.Consult with members of the legal/criminal justice system and advocate for the protection of the victim/survivors and accountability of offenders within the court/criminal justice system.
    Administrative ResponsibilitiesClear understanding of CAS Employee Handbook i.e. policies, procedures/guidelines.Assure data entry is completed accurately as assigned.                           Complete accurate statistical reports as assigned.                                    Assist in developing and reporting of program outcomes and strategic action plans. Support the grant writing process, i.e. research, information gathering, etc.Review and authorize timesheet and purchase orders.Contribute to budget development and expense control as assigned.

    Job Summary:
    The Cornerstone Day One Call Center (CC) Hotline Advocate position is responsible to provide trauma informed, survivor-centered, and culturally responsive services for victims/survivors (v/s) of domestic violence, sexual violence, human trafficking/sexual exploitation, and/or general crime. The Advocate responds to v/s and those supporting them via phone, text, email, or chat messaging through the 24/7 Day One Crisis Line, General Crime Victim Support Line and Minneapolis Hotline. Limited in-person support, advocacy, information, and referral is provided. This is an essential position within the Day One Network and utilizes the innovative practices of relationships, process, and technology to provide immediate and low-barrier access for v/s.

    Experience/Qualifications:
    Bachelor’s degree in psychology, social work, or human service-related field or comparable combination of career and life experiences. One or more years of experience providing direct crisis response services in a trauma-informed setting.
    • Understanding of trauma-informed, survivor-centered, and culturally responsive care practices.
    • Broad knowledge of resources, human services, and other systems which interface with victims of a crime with an emphasis on serving diverse, marginalized and/or underrepresented populations.
    • General understanding of crime victim’s rights, civil remedies, and the criminal justice systems with the understanding additional training will be provided.
    • Ability in assessing, deescalating, and communicating in a calm, trauma-informed way with participants in crisis.
    • Good written and interpersonal skills with the ability to work with v/s, concerned persons, and community partners.

    • Participates in the training and mentoring of new staff, volunteers and/or students as assigned.
    • Assures data entry is completed accurately in Apricot database and other tracking methods.
    • Properly documents all critical incidents: child protection reports, emergency response calls, and participant injury/cons. Completes other documentation as assigned by supervisor.

The Rapid Rehousing Advocate works closely with community partners, landlords, and internal teams to help survivors overcome housing barriers and achieve long-term stability.

    Services are provided in the participant’s home, office, community, and/or at partner sites. Some evenings and weekends may be required. 

    Essential Functions:
    The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Essential responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:Provide individualized, trauma-informed case management and advocacy services to survivors of domestic violence and their families.Assist clients in developing and working toward individualized housing stability plans.Support clients in navigating housing systems, including applications, lease signings, inspections, and move-ins.Advocate for clients with landlords and property management companies, ensuring fair treatment and addressing housing issues.Assist participants enrolling in other CAS supportive services such as and not limited to Economic Education, Individual Development Accounts, Clinical Services, and Childcare.Respond to crises as needed, de-escalating situations and ensuring safety and support for clients.Conduct regular home visits to assess safety and support needs.Help clients’ access supportive services such as employment training, financial literacy, healthcare, and mental health care.Maintain accurate and timely documentation of all services provided, including case notes, service plans, and data reporting.Monitor client progress and ensure compliance with program goals and grant requirements.Collaborate with the housing team to support effective delivery service and continuous improvement.Build and maintain relationships with community partners including housing authorities, landlords, and other social service providers.Assist with outreach and community education efforts around housing rights for domestic violence survivors.Collaborate with advocates in providing wraparound advocacy services for families participating in our other programming to provide comprehensive support for the entire family unit. Assures data entry is completed accurately in Apricot database and other tracking methods. Completes other duties as assigned by supervisor that support overall program objectives and services to victim/survivors. Physical Demands:

    Job Summary

    The primary role of the Clinical Intern position is to provide support to the Outpatient Clinical Team. Some duties include; responding to phone calls, replying to voice messages left on the confidential clinical line,  and providing information to potential clients seeking therapy or support group services. Clinical Interns will be responsible for entering data into our HIPAA compliant EHR (Electronic Health Records) system to ensure client information is securely stored and available to clients and staff. The role a Masters-level Clinical Intern is to facilitate Domestic Violence Support Groups as needed, and participate in all trainings specific to understanding how to support victims/survivors of domestic violence, sexual violence and exploitation, and human trafficking. Applicants must have direct experience working with people from diverse cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds. Cornerstone is centered on community engagement; therefore, applicants with experience working in schools or other community-centered programming is preferred. 

    Responsibilities and Duties: 

    Complete 40 Hour sexual violence and domestic violence training within the first 30 days of your internship. Respond to phone inquiries/voicemails on the Clinic Service Line weekly and in a timely manner.Manage clinic waitlist and reply to email inquiries.Must be willing and able to work 1 evenings a week to co-facilitate adult support groups, virtually or in-person.Participate in Mental Health Team Staff Meetings as required, and professional development trainings and workshops as assigned.Adhere to the NASW Code of Ethics, HIPAA standards, as well as MN state professional and ethical standards for mental health.For Master's level interns: Provide counseling services (individual and/or family therapy) to victims/survivors of domestic violence, sexual violence and human trafficking/sexual exploitation. Must manage a caseload of 7-10 clients a week under the supervision of a licensed clinical supervisor or the Director of Mental Health & Therapy Services. Must maintain compliance with community practice standards, complete clinical documentation as required in a timely manner.

    Qualifications and Skills

    Must have completed a Bachelor's Degree in Social Work, Counseling or Marriage & Family Therapy.Must be 1 year into your Master's Degree Program in either Social Work, Counseling Marriage and Family Therapy, or Psychology.Group facilitation experience is desired, and training will be provided. Must have a reliable vehicle or method of transportation for off-site meetings/groups.
