The incumbent should be able to perform all of the following functions at a pace and level of performance consistent with the job performance requirements:
Assistant dentist with the treatment of inmates/residents by setting up all instruments for each patient and treatment to be rendered and preparing impressions and filling materials.After each treatment, sterilize the dental unit and instruments used and replace instruments prior to the next patient treatment.Control medication, syringes and other dental supplies or equipment; inventory as required by established procedures.Keep equipment and work area clean; utilize appropriate sanitation methods.Review dental services provided to prevent the inappropriate use or duplication of services.Review status of inmates/residents for completion of all necessary intervention and treatments and services.Qualifications:
High school diploma, GED certification or equivalent or greater.One year of dental assisting experience is required.Certificate or evidence of completion of a dental assistant training program or other requirements that meet the criteria of the Dental Practice Act in the state of practice, in compliance with contract or applicable statutes is required.A valid driver's license is required.Minimum age requirement: Must be at least 18 years of age.CoreCivic is a Drug-Free Workplace & EOE including Disability/Veteran.

The incumbent should be able to perform all of the following functions at a pace and level of performance consistent with the job performance requirements:
Administer medication to inmates/residents under the direct supervision of the Health Services Administrator.Obtain, monitor, record and report vital signs and patient's condition as needed.Prepare patients for physical exams, procedures and treatments.Assist nurse/physician with physical exams, procedures and treatments.Engage in functions in confined areas that include such things as working rotating shifts and physically checking the doors, windows and other areas to verify they are secure.Qualifications:
High school diploma, GED certification or equivalent or greater.Must be state certified as a Medical Assistant in the state of employment or meet the state guidelines for exceptions to certification.A valid driver's license is required.Minimum age requirement: Must be at least 18 years of age.CoreCivic is a Drug-Free Workplace & EOE including Disability/Veteran.
