Continuous Composites is a leading-edge supplier of carbon fiber aerospace parts and innovative equipment used to manufacture those parts. We specialize in advanced additive technologies for laying down continuous carbon fiber infused with resin to create snap cured parts, which are subsequently fully cured. Our projects are primarily supported by the Department of Defense (DoD) and companies engaged in DoD work. We are seeking an experienced project manager with a strong background in aerospace composites and DoD contracting to support our R&D centric projects.The ideal candidate will have a proven track record managing technical aerospace projects, particularly those involving carbon fiber materials and supporting manufacturing processes. This role requires experience in the composites production industry, with an emphasis on research and development rather than high-volume production.Were looking for PM skills beyond track and report. You will understand the underlying project objectives and drive results towards those objectives. Youll actively add structure and help to define tasks and overall approach. You will lead-out and own the preparation and delivery of monthly DOD facing progress status meetings, ensuring project sponsors have confidence CCI is making best use of project dollars and progressing in a linear but objective directed course. Youll be shoulder-to-shoulder with mechanical, controls and material engineers using terms such as carbon-carbon, SiC, CTE, FEA, PCI, PID, Youngs modulus, etc. You know when to drive team collaboration and focus, but as important, when to let professionals focus on what they do best. Things dont always work out youre comfortable reporting bad news, know when to reset/replan and recognize when a change is needed. You will manage two or more concurrent projects.Key Responsibilities: Project Oversight: Oversee the entire project lifecycle, from initial concept through to delivery, ensuring all projects meet technical specifications, are completed on time, and within budget.Team Leadership: Manage cross-functional teams, including engineers, technicians, and support staff, to achieve project objectives.Planning and Execution: Develop and maintain detailed project plans, including schedules, resource allocations, and risk management strategies.DoD Compliance: Ensure compliance with all relevant DoD regulations, standards, and quality requirements.Client Coordination: Coordinate with clients, including DoD personnel and prime contractors, to understand requirements and deliver solutions that meet or exceed expectations.Innovation and Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvement and innovation in composites manufacturing techniques, particularly for research and design projects.Reporting and Communication: Prepare and present project reports, updates, and proposals to senior management and clients.Qualifications: Education: Bachelor's degree in engineering or extensive project management experience in the engineering domain.Experience:Minimum 5-years experience as a project manager in the aerospace industry.Proven experience managing DoD contracts and projects, with a strong understanding of DoD procurement processes and regulations.Familiarity with carbon fiber materials, resin systems, and manufacturing processes for aerospace applications.Skills:Excellent communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage and motivate teams.Strong organizational and multitasking abilities, with attention to detail.Proficiency in project management tools and methodologies (e.g., CMP, EVM).
