    Conti LLC Traffic Division seeks Electrical DOT Estimator:

    Conti LLC is looking for an Electrical Estimator with 4 years minimum experience in Traffic/DOT construction. This person will be responsible for preparing cost estimates on DOT Traffic projects (Lighting, ITS, Signalization, Signing, Tolling) based on construction plans and specifications.

    Job responsibilities:

    Analyzing drawings and specifications and reviewing scope of workPerforming quantity take-offs and creating job-specific subcontractor and vendor listsDistributing plans and scopes sheets to obtain competitive pricingCommunicating with subcontractors and vendors to obtain complete bids within required timeframesCommunicating thoroughly with customers regarding RFI’s and clarificationsUpon bid acceptance, attend required handoff meetings to ensure efficient and complete transfer of informationBuild relationships with key vendors (subcontractors, suppliers, engineers etc.)Compute costs by analyzing labor, material, and time requirementsPrepare work to be estimated by gather proposals, blueprints, specifications, and related documentsResolve discrepancies by collecting and analyzing informationReview plans for consistency and accuracyManage all levels of take-offs while applying unit prices

    Applicant knowledge:

    Strong experience in Highway Lighting, Traffic Signalization, Intelligent Transportation Systems, Highway Signing and Highway Tolling estimatingStrong background in Microsoft 365, Bluebeam and Trimble Accubid essential

    About the Role:

    The Electrical Estimator plays a critical role in the successful planning and execution of electrical construction projects by accurately forecasting the costs associated with labor, materials, and equipment. This position requires a comprehensive understanding of electrical systems, construction processes, and industry standards to develop detailed and competitive project bids. The estimator collaborates closely with project managers, engineers, and suppliers to gather necessary data and ensure all aspects of the project are accounted for in the estimate. By providing precise and timely cost estimates, the Electrical Estimator helps the company secure profitable contracts while maintaining budgetary control. Ultimately, this role supports strategic decision-making and contributes to the overall financial health and reputation of the organization within the electrical construction industry.

    Minimum Qualifications:

    Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.Minimum of 3 years of experience in electrical estimating or a related role within the construction industry.Proficiency in reading and interpreting electrical blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.Strong knowledge of electrical codes, standards, and construction practices.Experience with estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    Certification as a Certified Professional Estimator (CPE) or equivalent.Experience with industry-specific estimating software such as Accubid or McCormick Estimating.Familiarity with project management software and Building Information Modeling (BIM).Previous experience working on large-scale commercial or industrial electrical projects.Strong negotiation and communication skills.

    Responsibilities:

    Analyze project plans, specifications, and related documents to prepare detailed electrical cost estimates.Calculate quantities and costs of materials, labor, and equipment required for electrical installations.Collaborate with engineers, project managers, and subcontractors to clarify project requirements and resolve discrepancies.Research and obtain pricing from suppliers and subcontractors to ensure accurate and competitive estimates.Prepare and submit bid proposals within established deadlines while maintaining compliance with company policies and industry regulations.Review and update historical cost data to improve the accuracy of future estimates.Participate in pre-bid meetings and site visits to gather additional project information.Assist in value engineering efforts to optimize project costs without compromising quality or safety.
