    This Senior Corporate Counsel position will report directly to the CEO. The role will focus broadly on general business legal matters, including commercial agreements, financing transactions, regulatory compliance, and risk management. The company is seeking an attorney who can operate independently, think strategically, and help build scalable legal processes as the organization continues to grow.

    The Senior Corporate Counsel will serve as the company's primary legal advisor, providing guidance across a wide range of business and operational matters. This role will support executive leadership in evaluating risk, structuring transactions, and ensuring compliance across multiple business functions. As the first in-house legal professional, this individual will establish internal frameworks, oversee outside counsel relationships, and bring structure to the company's legal strategy.

    Responsibilities
    • Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of commercial agreements
    • Support financing transactions and related documentation
    • Provide guidance on regulatory and compliance matters
    • Advise leadership on corporate governance and risk management
    • Develop standardized contract templates and internal review processes
    • Manage outside counsel relationships as needed
    • Support strategic initiatives, partnerships, and growth initiatives
    • Provide day-to-day legal guidance across business operations

    Qualifications
    • Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school
    • Active license to practice law in at least one U.S. state
    • 5+ years of experience in corporate, commercial, or transactional law
    • Strong contract drafting and negotiation experience
    • Experience advising business leaders on risk and compliance matters
    • Ability to operate independently in a first in-house role
    • Strong business judgment and communication skills
