Responsibilities:
Assist clients with daily routines such as grooming, dressing, mobility, and medication remindersProvide companionship and emotional support to foster a trusting relationshipHelp with household tasks including light cleaning, meal preparation, and organizing personal belongingsMonitor clients’ health and well-being, reporting any concerns to healthcare professionals or family membersAccompany clients to appointments, outings, or community activities to promote social engagementMaintain accurate records of care provided and any changes in the client’s conditionFollow all safety protocols to ensure a secure environment for clients and staff
Qualifications:

Congregate Connect is seeking an experienced and highly capable Senior Accountant to oversee and lead the company’s accounting, financial reporting, payroll coordination, and accounting operations. This position is ideal for a college-educated accounting or finance professional who has the ability to manage day-to-day accounting functions while also building systems, developing staff, and growing an accounting department as the company continues to expand.
The Senior Accountant will be responsible for ensuring accurate financial records, timely reporting, strong internal controls, and efficient accounting processes. The ideal candidate must be comfortable working with QuickBooks, Bill.com, and Gusto, and must have the leadership ability to recruit, train, and develop a high-performing accounting team.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee all accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliations, general ledger, payroll support, and month-end close.Manage and improve the company’s accounting systems and workflows using QuickBooks, Bill.com, and Gusto.Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting for ownership and executive leadership.Build, train, supervise, and develop an internal accounting team.Establish and maintain accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls.Review cash flow, expenses, payroll reports, vendor payments, and financial statements.Coordinate with external CPAs, tax professionals, auditors, payroll providers, and banking partners.Support budgeting, forecasting, and long-term financial planning.Monitor compliance with applicable accounting, payroll, tax, and business reporting requirements.Identify opportunities to streamline accounting processes and improve operational efficiency.Provide leadership, accountability, and structure within the accounting department.Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field required.CPA, MBA, or advanced accounting certification preferred but not required.Minimum of 7–10 years of progressive accounting or finance experience.Prior experience in a Controller, Director of Accounting, VP of Accounting, or senior finance leadership role preferred.Strong working knowledge of QuickBooks, Bill.com, and Gusto.Proven ability to build, manage, and develop an accounting or finance team.Strong understanding of GAAP, financial reporting, internal controls, and accounting best practices.Excellent organizational, leadership, and communication skills.Ability to work in a fast-paced, growing company environment.High level of integrity, confidentiality, and attention to detail.Ideal Candidate:
The ideal candidate is a hands-on accounting leader who can operate at both a strategic and tactical level. This person should be comfortable reviewing financial statements, improving systems, managing payroll-related processes, and developing people.
