    Summary

    Under the direct supervision of the AGM of Business Administration, the Controller will assist in the development and implementation of company goals and priorities relating to financial management, budgeting, accounting, purchasing, and/or payroll in compliance with State and Federal law, and policies and procedures.

     

    Major Responsibilities

     

    Include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

    Assists in the development and implementation of company goals and priorities relating to financial management, annual budgeting, monthly forecasting, general accounting, purchasing, and/or payroll in compliance with State and Federal law, and company policies and proceduresMonitors compliance with all provisions of the company’s management contractManage internal controls, risk management and financial systems to improve accuracy and prevent fraud.Maintains contact with risk management department and insurance broker for coordination of appropriate coveragesReviews contracts for client, events, subcontractors, food and beverage or concessionairesReviews and/or prepares event settlements for all customers/eventsReviews and executes checks, and deposits; reviews daily cash receipts and disbursementsMonitors and projects daily cash flow; invests excess cash as neededReviews all purchasing of office supplies and facility suppliesDevelop and implement all financial reporting for operations according to GAAP, including:Prepare financial statements for the Client and other financial reports, including monthly statements, annual budgets, and annual reportsDirect the installation and maintenance of accounting records to show receipts and expendituresDirect the maintenance of general ledger and subsidiary ledgers, accounts receivable, revenue distribution, depreciation, cost, property, and operating expenses, and insurance recordsAnalyze financial performance and cost analyses for all departments; prepares monthly financial statements, recommends appropriate actions/changes to meet business goalsPrepare statements and reports of estimated future costs and revenuesAssist with the following tasks related to the facilities:Direct internal audits involving review of accounting and administrative controlsCoordinate preparation of Client or external audit materials and financial reporting;Implements recommendations of Client as requestedCoordinates year-end report of fiscal performance for the General Manager's reportDirects the installation and maintenance of any new accounting, timekeeping, payroll, inventory, property, and other related procedures and controlsReview financial statements with management personnelParticipates in union labor contract administration; maintains effective working relationship with union representativesActs as Manager on Duty as requiredOther duties and special projects as assigned.

     

     

     

     

     

    Supervisory Responsibilities

    During daily facility operations, duties include responsibility for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of the entire finance department. Directly supervises the entire Finance Department employees. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with company policies and applicable laws.

    Education and Experience

    B. S. in Accounting from a four-year college or university.At least 4 to 6 years’ experience in public accounting and/or financial management

     

    Skills and Abilities

    Extensive knowledge of general and cost accountingExcellent math skills; high aptitude for figuresExcellent communication, interpersonal skills, and organizational abilityAbility to work with and maintain highly confidential information is requiredStrong leadership and management skills with managing a team of 4 or more team membersMinimum of 2 years of experience in a Controller role with full cycle financial reporting responsibilities and finance department oversight.

     

    Computer Skills

    Extensive knowledge of accounting software, spreadsheets, and word processing softwareExperience with ADP or similar payroll systems desirable.

     

    Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

    CPA, MBA, or CMA certification strongly preferred

     

    Other Skills and Abilities

    Ability to work under limited supervision and to interact with all levels of staff including managementAbility to work irregular hours that may vary due to functions and may include day, evening, weekends, and holidays.The ability to prioritize multiple projects and meet strict deadlinesMust have professional attitude and appearance.
