    The Maintenance Technician role at Conagra performs all corrective and preventive maintenance as scheduled. This position is onsite in St. Elmo, Illinois, and reports to the Maintenance department leaders. Enhanced reliability is achieved through on-time completion and strict adherence to continuous improvement philosophies and methods. Brands made at our facility include Mrs. Butterworth's, Log Cabin, Wish-Bone, Bernsteins, Open Pit, Hunt's and Orvillle Redenbacher.

    You Will:

    Be committed to producing safe, quality food.

    Ensure efficient operation of all production lines including mechanical and electrical services.

    You will perform all work conforming to Conagra, state and local standards and codes.

    Perform the following responsibilities: electrical troubleshooting, parts manufacture, and proper operation of shop equipment.

    Follow all Safety and Good Manufacturing Policies.

    Provide operator training in safety, set-up, changeover, and Operator Asset Care.

    Support construction-type work involving the removal or installation of equipment.

    You Have:

    Read and interpret electrical drawings and schematics

    General knowledge of advanced electronic controls including VFD drives, Start/Stop, starters, and contactors. Proximity switches, RTD's, and PT's/

    Basic electronic troubleshooting

    Troubleshoot single and three-phase motors.

    Repair Pneumatic cylinders and flow control components.

    Demonstrate basic analysis of mechanical systems.

    Repair mechanical power distribution components:

    Belts and chains

    Sprockets, Pulleys, and Sheaves

    Bearings and shafts

    Gearboxes and clutches

    Repair fluid distribution components:

    Manual, motor-operated and pneumatic-actuated valves

    Centrifugal and positive displacement pumps

    Fluid system filters and strainers

    Computer knowledge and use

    Microsoft Office

    CMMS applications

    High school diploma or equivalent required.

    Your Impact

    Your Experience

    Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain, Engineering, Food Science, Agricultural Sciences, or related fields required.2+ years of supervisory experience preferred.Previous experience in a manufacturing environment strongly preferred.SAP experience is a plus.Knowledge of manufacturing processes, loss management, GMPs, and plant safety practices.Strong communication, interpersonal, problem-solving, and organizational skills.Experience in food processing or manufacturing is a plus.Willingness to work weekends and/or shifts with a strong work ethic.Self-motivated leader who can multi-task and inspire others.

    Compensation:

    Pay Range:$63,000-$93,000

    The annual salary listed above is the expected offering for this position. An employee's actual annual salary will be based on but not limited to: location, relevant experience/level and skillset, while balancing internal Conagra employees' equity. Conagra Brands will comply with applicable law regarding minimum salaries for exempt employees.

    Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, you will support the operation of our production and office facilities. You will join a team of over 150 associates.

    The responsibilities of this position include troubleshooting, removing, installing, replacing, repairing, and testing parts/components on plant and production equipment.

    A Day in the Life of a Maintenance Mechanic:

    You will maintain the daily responsibility of production machinery, participate in the preventative maintenance for all machinery.

    You Will:

    Keep production equipment in good condition and working order.

    Inspect machines and equipment to locate problems, replace defective parts and make sure necessary adjustments to ensure continuing production operation.

    You use manuals, repair manuals, parts manuals, parts diagrams to troubleshoot plant & production equipment.

    You use hand & power tools to remove, install, replace, re-build, repair, & may test parts/equipment on plant & production equipment.

    You will do electrical and/or pneumatic work to production machines.

    You will perform housekeeping & sanitation tasks during & at the end of shift.

    Maintain food safety and quality.

    Participates in process improvement efforts (CPS) using their maintenance expertise, to assist all teams and projects.

    Do You Have What It Takes:
    • High School diploma or GED

    • Previous aerosol line mechanic line experience, strong preferred

    Overtime may be needed to ensure production demand is fulfilled

    This is a physical position. You will be asked to do things like, lifting boxes of up to 50 pounds, climbing stairs, using your hands, and bending/kneeling

    This is a manufacturing environment with large machinery and moving parts that can be noisy. Safety is important to us, we provide earplugs and other personal protective equipment

    Compensation:

    Pay Range:$63,000-$93,000

    The annual salary listed above is the expected offering for this position. An employee's actual annual salary will be based on but not limited to: location, relevant experience/level and skillset, while balancing internal Conagra employees' equity. Conagra Brands will comply with applicable law regarding minimum salaries for exempt employees.
