Function: A Certified Peer Counselor provides interventions through the use of shared experiences to assist clients in the acquisition and exercise of skills needed to support the client's recovery. Interventions may include activities that assist clients in accessing or engaging in treatment and in symptom management; promote social connection, recovery, and self-advocacy; provide guidance in the development of natural community supports and basic daily living skills; and support clients in engagement, motivation, and maintenance related to achieving and maintaining health and wellness goals.
Provide support and care coordination for Forensic HARPS consumers in diverting from the court system using housing first and harm reduction models. This is an outreach position with the expectation of being out of the office a minimum of 50% of the time. FHARPs Certified Peer Counselor support clients with housing instabilities, secure, find and maintain housing. This position may need to provide life skills, transportation, and other services in various environments and locations within the community.

Work Expectations:
This is an outreach position, meaning more than half of your work will be in the field, at homeless encampments, shelters, and/or in a community house placement. You should be aware that these conditions are often not sanitary. Being a licensed and insured driver is a requirement of the position and sometimes, employees will be expected to transport clients in their personal vehicles.
Working conditions include walking, standing, hiking, bending, cleaning, or walking upstairs for extended periods of times. It is important for your own safety that you understand you will be expected to maneuver around unsteady terrain. Our Homeless Services are often called to intervene during all weather emergencies including the heat, snow, rain, smoke, and other extreme weather.
This positions shares in the rotation of the off-hours / on-call phone regarding housing support for potentially displaced clients (compensation provided)
Responsibilities:

Responsibilities:
