Role Summary:

The Admissions Clerk supports a seamless perioperative experience by coordinating patient registration, and front desk operations. What You’ll Do
• Register patients accurately by verifying demographics, insurance coverage, benefits, prior authorizations, and required documentation to ensure scheduling and billing accuracy.
• Review scheduling, referral, and insurance information; verify eligibility through Clariti, payer portals, and other verification resources; and determine authorization requirements for scheduled services.
• Conduct authorization research and validation through payer and utilization management platforms, including eviCore, TurningPoint, Availity, PEAR, and other applicable systems.
• Communicate with referring offices, patients, physicians, and staff to obtain missing information, secure required authorizations, resolve discrepancies, and coordinate patient care.
• Review and validate authorization approvals, effective and expiration dates, and authorized CPT and ICD-10 codes to ensure compliance with payer requirements.
• Document insurance verification, authorization status, and patient information in scheduling, registration, and electronic medical record systems.
• Collect copayments, maintain patient records, and ensure confidentiality in accordance with organizational policies and regulatory requirements.
• Greet patients and visitors, answer and direct telephone calls, respond to inquiries, and coordinate front desk operations to support efficient workflow and customer service.
