    POSITION SUMMARY

    The Board-Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) is responsible for providing on-site behavioral assessment, plan development, consultation, and training across CSAAC’s adult residential and vocational programs.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    Education: Master’s Degree in Applied Behavior Analysis or related field (or higher) education; Must hold active Board-Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) national certification, and Behavior Analyst License in the State of Maryland (LBA), with knowledge in the field of autism.

    Experience: Minimum of two (2) years’ experience providing services as BCBA for individuals with developmental disabilities.

    Skills: Must possess strong written and oral communication skills, as well as good organizational and coordinative ability. Must possess and demonstrate strong interpersonal skills with the ability to exercise patience, care, ethics, and concern in new and sometimes stressful situations. Computer literacy required, with proficiency in standard business software applications (i.e., word processing, e-mail and spreadsheets).

    NATURE AND SCOPE

    •Provides behavior management consultation to vocational and residential DSPs to assist adults with autism and/or other developmental disabilities in meeting their behavioral goals as well as to provide direction in matters relating to the residential and vocational programs.

    •Travels to residences and vocational settings to monitor Behavior Plan implementation and provide ongoing consultation and training to DSPs.

    •Investigates behavioral difficulties of individuals in residential and/or vocational settings; makes recommendations on possible solutions and approaches.

    •Conducts regular on-site visits to monitor fidelity of behavior plan implementation and provide feedback.

    •Conducts evaluations at the residences and in the vocational program of DSP implementation of Behavior Plan, as assigned by the Psychologist.

    •Provides feedback on the implementation of instructional programs, data collection and community inclusion for the DSPs.

    •Consults with other professionals including nursing, dietitian, other mental health and medical professionals.

    •Provides consultation notes to supervisor regarding on-site visits with the individual’s assigned staff within 48 hours of visit.

    •Documents findings, recommendations, and progress in compliance with CSAAC standards and DDA requirements.

    •Conducts functional assessments, life skill assessments, and develops instructional training programs as directed by his/her supervisor.

    •Conducts initial training to DSPs on new individuals entering adult services.

    •Provide supervision hours to BCBA's and other prospective BCBA's as needed.

    •Adheres to CSAAC’s operational policies, including on-site presence and timely documentation submission.

    •Mentors and supports development of future CSAAC behavioral staff, contributing to long-term workforce sustainability.

    •Collaborates with the Licensed Psychologist for case consultation and advanced clinical input as needed.

    •Consults with Psychologist on designing treatment strategies for use in behavioral and instructional programming and provides training on those strategies to vocational and residential staff.

    •Consults with Psychologist to facilitate individuals' behavioral and vocational progress.

    •Attends team meetings as directed.

    •Other behavioral analytic duties as needed.

    •Completes training in CSAAC’s CIMS system for service and behavior notes.

    REQUIRED TRAINING/PROFESSIONAL CERTIFICATIONS

    Must be an active Board-Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) in active, good standing. Should hold an active Maryland State License as Licensed Behavior Analyst (LBA) or be eligible for MD LBA upon hire. BCBA is required to maintain active certification and licensure throughout career at CSAAC.

    The Delegating Nurse reports directly to the Director of Health Services. The primary role of the Delegating Nurse is to oversee the safety, health and well being of the individuals that we support as well as to promote and maintain the health of these individuals, using a nursing delegation conceptual framework. The Delegating Nurse maintains a caseload of individuals and is responsible for coordinating and facilitating the health care needs for individuals assigned to their caseload.

    The nurse in this position is responsible for delegating nursing duties such, as medication administration and other health-care functions, carried-out by unlicensed staff. The Delegating Nurses’ role is to assess the staff, to make sure that they are competent and safe, to supervise them as they perform health-care tasks, to provide continuous training, to provide support to them as they perform this function, and to maintain a good relationship with the staff in order to facilitate communication back and forth as needed with the staff and their supervisors.

    The Delegating nurse will ensure that all nursing documentation will be completed in a timely manner. The goal is to have the documentation completed and in the office and home files no more than seven days after the visit, hands on assessment or phone call.

    Delegating nurses are expected to participate in periodic nursing meetings and other pertinent agency meetings. They are responsible for consulting with the Director of Health Services should they have questions and/or need feedback on a particular health-related issue.

    It is the function of an RN in this position to work as a team with the other nurses, nutritionist, coordinators, directors and other staff at CSAAC. Nurses at CSAAC are encouraged to be a part of the agency as a whole, not just the nursing department. Frequently nursing will have an impact on other departments, and all aspects of the agency need to be considered. Excellent communication skills and flexibility are essential.

    The Delegating Nurse practices nursing in accordance to the State of Maryland Nurse Practice Act, Code of Maryland Regulations Title 10, Subtitle 27, and The Standards of Developmental Disabilities Nursing Practice.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    Education: Registered Nurse currently licensed by the Maryland Board of Nursing

    Experience: Minimum of one (1) years experience as a registered nurse. Experience in working with individuals with special needs desirable. Should have or be qualified for Case Management/Delegating Nurse certification in the State of Maryland. Current CPR/First Aid/AED Training

A follow-up residential site visit to assess the clinical status of the individual must occur at a minimum of every 45 days.Performs MAR/medication reviews including` ensuring that appropriate medication storage guidelines are applied.Evaluating/assessing the competency of unlicensed staff.     ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

    Program Development:

    Develops appropriate, enriched vocational programs for individuals served by CSAAC. Works with the Job Developer to match each individual with the jobs found, commensurate with their abilities and interest.Sources alternative vocational opportunities when full competitive employment is not attained (e.g., volunteer opportunities, training opportunities or other relevant, enriched and purposeful vocational experiences).Develops fully productive vocational schedules for the individual, outlining specific and meaningful activities that extend beyond the search for employment. Trains Job Coaches on the individuals’ vocational schedules; develops observation practices and documentation systems to ensure vocational schedules and related activities are being followed on a daily or weekly basis. Develops and maintains good relationships with the employers. Contacts the employer on a regular basis to determine if there are problems; visits the job site at least every two weeks or immediately if a problem is identified. Ensure the employer is pleased with the individual’s work and can continue employment.

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS (cont’d)

    Program Development (cont’d):

    Sets up new worksites in preparation for individuals beginning their employment. Gains an understanding of the job duties, worksite culture and any additional expectations of the client. Visits the job site daily during the first week of employment to provide support to the individual and his/her job coach in learning the job and meeting its requirements. Keeps the Residential Coordinator(s) (RC’s) apprised of any behavioral incidents, job threatening events or any other events or behaviors that affect the individual’s job or vocational programming. Keeps the RC’s informed of the individual’s weekly schedule.

    Job Coach Training:

    Trains Job Coaches on each individual’s BMP, ensuring that Job Coaches implement the BMP with at least 90% accuracy. Ensures the Job Coaches have all necessary supplies, forms, reinforcers and money to implement BMPs.Trains Job Coaches on tasks individuals will be performing at the work site, volunteer site or training site. Ensures Job Coach supports the individual in getting tasks completed and encourages and promotes involvement of the individual in completion of the task to the maximum degree possible. Trains Job Coaches to identify problems at the worksite; works with Job Coaches to assist in resolution.

    Staff Management and Development:

    Assists with the selection, retention and development of subordinate staff in the Employment Supports department (i.e. Job Coaches). Assists Director with the Identification of the knowledge, skills and abilities needed to perform these roles; participates in the recruitment process for new and replacement hires.Provides specific skills training to subordinate staff to ensure their ability to effectively support individuals at their work, volunteer or training site. Ensures staff members complete required training within timeframes prescribed by CSAAC.Conducts annual performance evaluations, make salary recommendations as to the Director appropriate.Confers with the Director and Human Resources to effect any disciplinary measures as required.     Invites questions from staff and relays staff questions or updates to BCBA.
