Senior Estimator / Project Manager — Electrical

    Fort Myers, FL (Southwest Florida)

    $100,000–$125,000 base + incentive pay

Coharbor Electric is hiring a senior Estimator / Project Manager to own commercial and residential projects from quote through closeout. Active pipeline ready for you on day one. We have more quote requests than we can service — your job is to fix that.

This is a senior seat. If you're early-career or looking to learn estimating, this isn't your seat — we'll be hiring at the mid-level separately later this year.

    The seat

You quote it, you win it, you run it, you close it out. Project size: $50K to $2M. Mix: commercial new construction, tenant improvements, retrofits, service, and selective residential. You will own multiple active projects at any time across estimating and PM phases.

This is not a desk-only estimator role. This is not a PM-only role. If you want to specialize in one or the other, this isn't your seat.

    Why this is different

    • Real ownership — you bid it, you run it, you own the margin

    • Must be able to quote with or without a full set of prints — service, retrofit, and walk-bid work is part of the mix

    • Active pipeline ready on day one — more quote requests than we can service

    • Direct relationship with ownership; pricing decisions don't get routed through three layers

    • Growing commercial division — the right hire grows into the leader of this function as we scale

    • Territory: Sarasota to Marco Island

    • In office, home office, or jobsite — be where you're needed

    What you'll do

    Estimating

    • Take-offs from plans and specs (commercial and residential)

    • Walk-bid pricing for service and retrofit work without full prints

    • Build labor and material estimates; develop and defend pricing

    • Vendor and supplier quoting; manage submittals

    • Bid review with ownership before submission

    • Walk jobs with GCs and customers as needed

    Project management

    • Run projects from award through closeout: scheduling, procurement, change orders, RFIs, billing milestones

    • Coordinate with field superintendents, foremen, and crews

    • Customer and GC communication — you are the project's owner externally

    • Manage job financials against your original estimate — hit the margin you bid

    • Punch list, closeout documentation, warranty handoff

    What we pay and provide

    • Base salary $100,000–$125,000 depending on experience and the book of work you can carry

    • Incentive pay tied to estimating accuracy, project margin, and completion — structure shared with finalists

    • Take-home company truck + fuel card (or vehicle allowance)

    • Health insurance options

    • Paid time off

    • Paid holidays

    What we need

    • 5+ years estimating electrical work

    • 2+ years running projects as PM

    • Demonstrated ownership of commercial projects up to $2M — estimated, managed, closed

    • Reads commercial and residential prints fluently

    • Can quote service and retrofit work without a full set of prints

    • Residential electrical knowledge sufficient to estimate panels, service upgrades, EV chargers, and generator installs

    • Strong written and verbal communication — you'll be the customer-facing voice on every project

    • Florida driver's license, clean MVR, passes background check

    • Cultural fit: humble, hungry, smart

    Who we are

Coharbor Electric is a veteran-owned electrical contractor in Southwest Florida, scaling our commercial division. Voted Best Electrical Company in three Community Choice Awards across multiple cities. We pay for skill, we promote from within, and we don't take work we can't run profitably.

    Not for you if

    • You want to quote and hand off

    • You need a large estimating team to lean on — you own this end to end

    • You want pure commercial or pure residential

    • You're looking to coast — the work is real and the accountability is direct

    To apply

Submit your resume and a brief note on the largest commercial project you've owned from estimate through closeout, including the project size and the gross margin variance vs. your original bid.

Candidates who cannot speak concretely to margin variance will not move forward.
