We are seeking a knowledgeable and personable Optician / Technician with hands-on experience in eyeglass fitting, frame styling, and patient education. This role combines optical sales expertise with clinical support, both on the optical floor and in the exam room.
This position includes optical, clinical, and back office responsibilities. Candidates must be comfortable supporting all areas of the practice.
The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, adaptable, and passionate about delivering an excellent patient experience.
Key Responsibilities
Fit, adjust, and dispense eyeglasses with precisionGuide patients in selecting frames that meet both medical and aesthetic needsTake accurate optical measurements (PD, segment height, etc.)Educate patients on lens options, coatings, and proper eyewear careTrain patients on contact lens insertion, removal, and hygienePerform basic pretesting (autorefraction, tonometry, retinal imaging)Support the optometrist and team to maintain efficient patient flowMaintain a clean, organized, and professional environmentAssist with back office duties including patient intake, charting support, and workflow coordinationSupport administrative tasks such as scheduling, documentation, and general office organizationCross-train and provide coverage as needed to support clinic operationsRequirements
Minimum 2 years of optical experience (required)Strong skills in eyewear adjustments, repairs, and troubleshootingKnowledge of lens materials, coatings, and frame stylesComfortable working in a fast-paced environmentFriendly, patient-focused communicatorReliable, detail-oriented, and team-orientedExperience with contact lens training (preferred)Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems (preferred)Willingness to support both front office and back office responsibilitiesBenefits
