Cobaltix is looking for a senior technology consultant with experience working directly with clients, planning and implementing major technology projects. Time management and excellent communication are key. Our team IS our reputation, and clients rely on us, so learning on the job is a constant.
Total comp is $140k-$170k (base salary plus monthly bonus), with $5k-$10k signing bonus. This is a local, and on-site ~3 days/week (Santa Monica area), ~2 days remote, and it is not a contract position.
These are the technology skills that are required:
Azure architecture, migrations, and troubleshooting (cloud-only and hybrid environments)Hyper-V, VMware, and Veeam backup and disaster recovery planningAdvanced Entra ID and Microsoft 365 identity management.Enterprise security including VPNs, MFA,SSO, EDR and ITDR solutions.Microsoft 365 architecture, administration, and security, including Exchange Online, SharePoint, and TeamsExchange Online mail flow architecture, administration, and troubleshooting, including enterprise mail securityIntune, AutoPilot, and JAMF device management and deploymentAdvanced PowerShell and scripting using APIs; Bash and Python scriptingCloud networking in Azure, Meraki, Palo Alto and integration with physical infrastructure.Real experience, not just book learning or certs. What the work actually looks like: You'll be the technical, hands-on lead for a set of clients you get to know deeply over time. The work varies: Entra ID tenant designs for firms with serious compliance requirements, Exchange mail flow problems that MSPs gave up on, hybrid Azure migrations that have to go right the first time, and multi-site network designs that hold up across headquarters and satellite offices. Increasingly, clients also ask how to think about AI. The landscape is changing and part of the job is helping them cut through the noise, understand what's actually useful for their business, and adopt and build tools without creating security or data governance problems. You'll be in client meetings, you'll write the runbook, and you'll execute it alongside the rest of the team. This is a hybrid role in San Francisco, on-site usually but remote when it makes sense. Our average is a 60/40 split on-site/remote.
