    Aerospace Quality Inspection Positions


    Location:

    North Phoenix - 2688 E Rose Garden Ln, Phoenix, AZ 85050

     

    Shift:

    Day Shift

    Night Shift w/20% Differential pay


    Position Overview:

    Performs mechanical inspections of products to determine conformance to the customers Engineering prints and specifications, utilizing standard mechanical instruments, CMMs, functional gauges, test fixtures, and electronic diagnostic instruments for variable data collection. Follows Manufacturing plans and inspection procedures to report product status accurately, record turn backs for resolution, and identify nonconforming material to be properly documented and segregated.


    Responsibilities:

    Conducts first article inspection on set up parts off machinesRecord and document dimensional findingsWorks with department leads/set up machinist evaluating inspection dataPeriodical in-process inspectionRun proven CMM programs


    Basic Qualifications:

     

    ·         3 years minimum experience in aerospace inspection manufacturing environment

    ·         Strong understanding of ANSI Y 14.5 and GDT required

    ·         Experience with micrometers, optical comparator, height gages, profilometer

    ·         CMM experience required (PCDMIS, QC5000, Brown and Sharp Reflex)

    ·         Inspector is expected to have a comprehensive understanding of appropriate workmanship standards and be able to use sampling plans to establish product acceptance in line with the customers specifications


    Preferred Skills:

    ·         Ability to conduct receiving inspections using standard mechanical, and electrical instruments, functional gauges, test fixtures and utilizing CMMs with existing Part Programs

    ·         Basic math aptitude

    ·         Organizational skills

    ·         Ability to read engineering drawings

    ·         Interpret technical specifications, product certifications, manufacturing planning, and inspection procedures

    ·         Ability to interpret SPC plans and results, analyze SPC data for Manufacturing Improvements, understand and perform Gage R&R studies

    ·         Report product status accurately, record turn-backs for resolution, analyze product history for trends and identify nonconforming material to be properly documented and segregated using Computer software

    ·         Prepare and use standard documentation for reporting and detailed inspection plans for the purpose of recording measurement results on Computer software

    ·         Perform process / product audits, over-checks for product validation, and review product history for trends and analysis

    Job Summary

    CMI Group Skilled Trade Recruiter will specialize in vetting highly technical skill sets along with evaluating mechanical aptitude for trainees and apprentice level candidates.


    Key Responsibilities

    High-Volume Talent Sourcing: Utilize job boards, social media, and local networks to build pipelines for both specialized roles such as CNC machinists and trainees and entry-level workers.  Leverage trade schools and industry-specific networks to find skilled operators.Technical Screening & Assessments: Vet candidates for technical proficiency, such as CNC machine operation and mechanical aptitude.  Develop and administer role-specific assessments and skill tests for CNC machining.Full-Cycle Onboarding: Schedule and conduct interviews, manage initial background checks, drug screenings, and orientation.Retention:  Conduct regularly scheduled check-in’s with new hires and managers to ensure new hires are integrated into the team quickly.


    Required Qualifications

    3+ years of skilled trade recruiting experience required.Basic computer skills and spreadsheet proficiency required.Familiarity with manufacturing processes, supply chain, and quality inspection standards.  CNC Machining and Aerospace/Defense manufacturing preferred.Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing with candidates, management and executive leadership.Strong organization and time management skills - ability to manage multiple high-priority requisitions simultaneously while maintaining a sense of urgency.Deep understanding of safety expectations and documentation accuracy requirements.CMI Group is an ITAR regulated facility.
