    Job description

    Pro Tech Mechanical, a Crete United company, has provided quality service and HVAC solutions to our customers for over 20 years and we are the fastest growing mechanical company in South Texas. We specialize in commercial HVAC, plumbing, piping, electrical, building automation and controls as well as the maintenance of these systems.

    Our service department is growing and looking to hire a Senior Chiller Mechanic in the Houston area. Well-qualified candidates will have experience servicing commercial and industrial clients and are interested in joining a well-established company.

    Duties:

    Responsible for diagnosis, maintenance, repairs, overhauls and operation of all electro-mechanical systems and equipment for commercial chiller systems.Ability to work on the following equipment brands: Trane, Carrier, York, and McQuay Centrifugal.Have working knowledge of schematic reading. · Perform chiller overhauls, major inspections, retrofits as required by customerMaintain record of work performed and parts/materials usedProvide training to junior team membersSupport and implement a plan to achieve the objectives for the Service department.Ongoing/constant contact with Sr. Managers, Technical Specialist, Project Managers, Construction Dept Managers, Finance, Sales Dept, Customers and Vendors. All activities related to customer support.Engage in teamwork to promote continuous organizational improvement to support Pro Tech business initiatives.PC skills with knowledge of word processing, spreadsheets, projects and presentation software.Generates, maintains and provides reports as required.Initiates and assists in the development and presentations of programs which address important goals of the company such as supervisory and employee development and promoting positive employee relations.

    Qualifications:

    ASEE or equivalent combination of education and technical experience.5+ years experience servicing both water and air cooled chillers up to 600TonsLeadership capabilities. Effective communication and language skills; verbal and written. Good organizational skills.Strong operational understanding of logistical concepts in the Commercial HVAC business.Valid Driver’s license and acceptable background check

    Role Overview

    As a Construction Manager, you’ll lead projects from pre-construction to closeout, managing field operations, financial performance, and team leadership with a focus on quality, safety, and client satisfaction.

    Key Responsibilities

    Project Delivery

    Oversee complete project lifecycle—from planning and mobilization to commissioning.Ensure strict adherence to scope, schedule, budget, and quality benchmarks.

    Field Operations & Site Leadership

    Conduct daily job site visits, addressing challenges and ensuring quality and safety standards.

    Team & Culture Development

    Lead and mentor staff—Project Managers, Engineers, Field Supervisors, and subcontractors.Support recruitment, onboarding, and evaluations to foster a collaborative, high-performance team environment.

    Financial Responsibility

    Hold P&L responsibility for multiple MEP projects.Coordinate budgeting, cost management, forecasting, billing, change orders, and vendor payments.

    Safety & Compliance

    Champion a safety-first mindset across all sites in line with OSHA and company protocols.Lead safety meetings and ensure all regulatory and client requirements are met.

    Stakeholder Collaboration

    Serve as primary liaison with clients, Estimators, Sales, Vendors, and Department Heads.Participate in bids, inspections, and progress evaluations for seamless project delivery.

    Quality & Risk Management

    Uphold strict quality control and compliance with specifications, codes, and industry best practices.Proactively identify risks and implement mitigation strategies.

    Reporting & Documentation

    Maintain detailed documentation—schedules, RFIs, submittals, daily logs, and progress reports.Report on project status to internal stakeholders, ensuring transparency and accountability.

    Preferred Qualifications

    Experience: Minimum 5 years in construction/project management within HVAC/Mechanical/MEP.Technical Fluency: Proficient in Microsoft Office and project software (Procore, MS Project, Bluebeam).Industry Insight: Strong grasp of mechanical systems, building products, code compliance, and construction practices.Leadership Track Record: Demonstrated ability to lead teams and manage subcontractors.Location: Based in or willing to relocate to Corpus Christi, TX (relocation assistance considered).

    As a Project Manager will lead all aspects of the project from planning, managing and coordinating commercial and industrial projects. Be accountable for the financial aspects of HVAC/MEP projects including oversight and support related to forecasting and management of the project related areas such as; cost, billing, collections and vendor terms, variation orders, risk and opportunities.

    Defines project schedule for assigned projects, also publishes reports during the month to communicate progress against the targets.Daily contact with Owners, General Manager, CFO, Project Managers, Accounting, Purchasing, Construction Depts.Interface with project inspectors, contractors, architects, engineers, city and county officials, subcontractors, vendors and clients.Responsible for the management of indirect reports assigned from other departments/trades during project execution.Supports effective utilization of Change Orders and improvements to our contract.Communicates effectively during the development of Variation Order requests with the Estimating Dept. and Sales team.Elevates and presents plans to mitigate risk associated with LD liabilities when applicable.Monitors the issuance of material and subcontract purchase orders for compliance to construction and schedule requirements (including budget).Ensures that Project Management procedures are in place and are followed including a document control procedure.Serves as the primary internal contact with Management for the financial and commercial aspects of the Project Portfolio and coordinates related communications between the various functional areas involved in the project.Ensures an understanding of business goals and creates energy and action toward those goals.Creates an atmosphere that welcomes and encourages expression of diverse views.Open, positive attitude, willing to be part of multi-discipline TEAMAnticipates potential problems and proactively solves complex problems.Demonstrates effective leadership ability within a team environment and contributes significantly to team performance.
