Job Summary
The Paving Grade Checker plays a critical role in ensuring grading operations meet project specifications and design elevations. This position involves working closely with equipment operators, paving superintendents, and GPS Coordinator to maintain grade accuracy for paving operations.
Essential Responsibilities
Verify and maintain grade specifications on construction sites using stakes, lasers, and other survey tools.Interpret civil drawings, blueprints, and grade plans to provide clear guidance to equipment operators.Monitor paving operations to ensure adherence to design grades and slopes.Set and check control points for concrete paving.Communicate with site supervisors, survey crews, and machine operators to ensure smooth field operations.Adjust grades on-the-fly based on field conditions and project requirements.Ensure compliance with safety standards and participate in daily safety briefings.Record and report discrepancies or issues with grade to supervisors and suggest corrective actions.Physical Requirements
Ability to sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, walk, stand; Able to frequently lift and/or move up to 10 lbs. and lift and/or move up to 50 lbs.Education, Skills & Experience
