    This position works independently under the direction of the Public Works Supervisor.   Must be a proven leader with the ability to effectively direct, train, and motivate personnel while always emphasizing safety, respect and optimization of resources.  Other duties include but are not limited to:

    Primary Job Duties/Responsibilities:

    All services related to Water and WastewaterInstalling, maintaining and reading metersInspection and approval of infrastructure construction projectsStreet repair, mowing, facilities management and equipmentEstablish and maintain an effective working relationship with general public, co-workers and City Officials through excellent customer service and communication skills via phone, fax, email or in person, to answer questions, disseminate or explain information, take orders and address complaints, etcRemain current with municipal laws, policies, codes, and regulationsUnderstand and follow oral and written instructionsParticipates in On Call Rotation (nights and weekends as scheduled)Additional duties as assigned

    Physical

    Ability to see and hear at normal levels with or without devices.Ability to demonstrate manual dexterity, strength and proficiency required perform equipment maintenance.Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time.Ability to crouch and/or stoop and ability to rise, kneel and crawl.Ability to twist upper body while working in difficult spaces with arms and hands extended.Ability to manipulate, pick up and carry 100 pounds for a distance of at least 10 feet; to truck bed height.Ability to work outdoors in adverse weather conditions involving heat and coldAbility to climb up and down a ladder, onto roofs and into holes, while reaching above head, etc.

    Equipment Operator I or II or III, under the supervision of the Superintendent, performs routine manual labor involved in golf course maintenance; do semi-skilled grounds construction and maintenance work; operate small hand-powered equipment; and occasionally perform work involving large equipment such as tractors, loaders and gang mowers. Each Equipment Operator may be assigned responsibility for the care and maintenance of several designated holes on the golf course and does related work as required.
        
    Typical Functions:
        
    The Equipment Operator:
    •Operates mowers and string trimmers in trimming greens, aprons, tees, around trees, fence lines, banks and hillsides; edges cart paths; edges, rakes and maintains sand bunkers.
    •Maintains fuel and fluid levels for all types of equipment on a daily basis; reports equipment problems or failure to supervisor immediately.
    •Returns all equipment to the designated location at the maintenance facility; and cleans the maintenance areas.
    •Helps in project work; assists in the construction of new greens, tees and fairways; grades and prepares soil base; lays sod; and seeds tees, greens and fairways.
    •May be asked to operate mowers, dump trucks or other light equipment.
    •Performs other duties as directed by his/her supervisor.
    •In the event of damages to the course by weather or other unforeseen events, the equipment operator I may be called in to restore course back to normal playing conditions.

    The City of Westworth Village offers a competitive and comprehensive benefits package. TMRS retirement at 7% employee contribution with 2 to 1 city match. In addition, the department offers up to $5300 annually depending on qualifications for: Specific Certifications, Education Pay and Bilingual Pay.     JOB DUTIES:

    Under general direction, enforces applicable Federal, State and local laws and ordinances. Performs various duties to support law enforcement activities as well as provide service to the citizens in an efficient and professional manner.

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

    must be at least 21 years of age at time of application.must be a United States Citizen.must have a high school diploma or G.E.D.must have and maintain a valid Texas driver license, or be able to obtain a Texas driver license.must currently be licensed or able to be licensed by the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement (TCOLE) and be in good standing.must be free of mental/physical defect(s) that would prevent a person from performing the duties of a police officer.must pass a written test and oral review board.must pass an extensive background check, psychological, medical physical, drug screening, vision and hearing tests.must be willing to do shift work, patrol works 12 hour shifts, 84 hour pay periods.must be willing and able to complete the department's field training program.preference will be given to applicants with 2 or more years of patrol officer experience.must not have a prior Brady violation.

    Duties are generally performed within the city limits primarily outdoors. Occasionally services are performed outside the city limits. Weight must be proportionate to height and build. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, run, jump, climb, push, pull, reach, kneel and bend. The employee must have normal vision (not less than 20/30 and normal color vision), be within normal hearing ranges and have understandable articulation to hear and understand verbal communications at normal speaking tones via voice, radio and telephone and to verbally respond succinctly. The employee is occasionally exposed to personal risk while working in dangerous and life threatening situations, riding in a police vehicle, wearing the police uniform, or in the holding facility.
