The position requires a high school diploma (with coursework in chemistry or math), mechanical aptitude, and basic knowledge of water treatment processes. Working conditions involve both indoor and outdoor work, physical labor, and exposure to chemicals and high voltage equipment. The employee must obtain a Class "C" Illinois Water Supply Operator's Certificate within 18 months and a Class B Illinois CDL within six months of hire.
