Cicero Construction Group is an established open shop commercial renovation contractor based in the Chicago suburbs, in business for 55+ years, looking for an experiencedCommercial Carpenterto join our team.
We performcommercial renovations, tenant build-outs, office renovations, school work, and institutional projects. Most of our work is private commercial renovation, with limited prevailing wage work.
Most of our projects occur locally, within the Chicagoland area. However, we also occasionally take on regional projects throughout the Midwest.
What Were Looking For
We are looking for a carpenter who cananchor our team and help build the future of our company.
We need someone who can do more than just complete assigned tasks. The right person can read plans, think ahead, work independently, troubleshoot field conditions, and help keep projects moving.
This work may require occasional out-of-town travel throughout the region to perform projects that we may take on around the region. Determined on a project-to-project basis.
This position is a good fit for someone who takes pride in their work, is dependable, communicates well, and understands how commercial renovation projects operate.
Responsibilities
Read and work from construction plans and drawingsPerform commercial carpentry work on renovation and build-out projectsComplete layout, framing, blocking, backing, doors, hardware, casework, ceilings, and finish carpentry tasksWork safely and efficiently on active job sitesCoordinate with superintendents, project managers, and other tradesIdentify issues early and help solve problems in the fieldThink ahead and plan the next steps of the workMaintain a clean, organized, and professional work area
Qualified Candidates Should Have
Minimum 5 years of Commercial carpentry experienceAbility to read and understand plansStrong layout and problem-solving skillsAbility to workautonomouslywithout constant supervisionA self-starter attitudeReliable transportationis a MUSTOwn basic hand toolsGood communication skillsProfessional attitude and strong attention to detail
Pay
$35$48 per hour, based on experience, skill level, and ability to work independently.
We are willing to pay a good wage for the right person. Compensation will be based on what you can do, how independently you can work, and the value you bring to the job.
Prevailing wage paid when applicable.
