*This position may qualify for up to $30,000 sign on bonus!* Job Summary / Purpose:Provides technical expertise in Computed Axial Tomography procedures in accordance with the mission and philosophy of CHI St Alexius Health. Essential Key Job Responsibilities Perform high quality imaging procedures, evaluates scans for technical quality, performs 2 and 3 D reformations per Radiologist direction, and demonstrates proficiency and accuracy in performance of all exam protocols.Evaluates imaging orders for contrast use, verifies there are no contraindications to administration of contrast, operates power injector for contrast administration, and dispenses oral contrast, proficient in IV placement for contrast. Assist Radiologist during interventional procedures which include biopsies, drainages, aspiration, cryoablation, microwave ablation therapy, radiofrequency ablations. Set up sterile traysProvides assistance to the Radiology Nurse with post procedure patient care including bandages and dressings, chest tube equipment, wall suction, and drain reservoirsWorks to ensure quality patient care standards and radiation safety practices are metMaintains accurate patient records for all procedures performed, maintaining patient confidentiality and adhering to all HIPAA standards. Applies charges and supplies as neededMonitors assigned inventory expiration dates and levels. Makes sure exam rooms are properly supplied with equipment and materials. Maintains clean and orderly work area.
Qualifications
Graduate of an approved school of Radiologic Technology and registered Radiologic Technologist with the American Registry of Radiologic Technology. Bachelor’s degree in Radiologic Technology preferred. Ongoing CT specified education including radiation protection and minimization of patient radiation exposure.Preference given for 1 year clinical experienceComputer and Clerical Skills, Radiographic and patient care skills obtained at an approved School of Radiologic Technology. *This position may qualify for up to $30,000 sign on bonus!* Job Summary / PurposeTo provide and coordinate high quality patient care in all areas of the Heart and Vascular Center upon the order of a licensed physician and in accordance with the mission and philosophy of CHI St. Alexius Health.Essential Key Job ResponsibilitiesDemonstrates technical and professional knowledge in patient care through job knowledge, equipment management, productivity, critical thinking and leadership.Manages routine use and quality control requirements of equipment, by adhering to established radiation safety protocols for all personnel inside the procedure room. Assists with patient care by the following: patient education of procedure, safe transfer of patient, adhering to infection control and to HIPPA regulations while meeting Core Measurements and Quality Control thresholds. Assists physicians by providing quality imaging, facilitating completion of exams, maintaining supplies and assisting with specialized equipment for diagnostic purposes and urgent/emergent procedures.Utilized CPT coding for all procedures, and stays current on the charging CPT coding system. Assesses patient relative to requested procedure by collecting pertinent data about the patient and procedure and uses professional judgement to analyze data to select the most appropriate and cost-effective products for completing the requested procedure.Sets up, maintains, and monitors the sterile field assuring the highest standards of sterile technique are maintained during the procedure.Prepares the patient for the procedure assuring that the highest standards are maintained; prepares and administers contrast; performs exams under the supervision and direction of the physician to include imaging, scrubbing and circulating.Scrubs and assists physicians during procedures. Assists physician in sterile placement of invasive and hemodynamic monitoring equipment.Uses fine motor skills to assist physician with the placement/deployment/use of invasive catheters, wires, balloons, stents, Intra-aortic balloon counter-pulsation equipment, implantable cardiac devices, and electrophysiology catheters/3-D intra-cardiac conduction mapping.Performs monitoring function throughout procedures. Documents clinical information in patient record.Operates hemodynamic monitoring equipment.Recognize and report changes in the cardiac rhythm. Recognize and report changes in hemodynamic waveforms.Accurately documents the flow of events from start thru completion of procedure.Takes action to achieve personal and department goals, 4 defined job specific competencies, and monitored work attendance.

Qualifications
