    Job Summary

    The Charles R. Drew University College of Medicine provides training, in association and cooperation with its affiliated participating institutions, in graduate medical education (GME) programs that meet the standards established by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) and its Residency Review Committees. Completion of the training qualifies the participant for certification by a specialty board recognized by the American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS).

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    The Fellow will:

    Participate in the clinical evaluation and care of patients in a variety of patient care settings with sufficient frequency to achieve the competencies required by their discipline under the supervision of the attending staff. Fellows may write orders and progress notes in patient charts, although attending physicians retain responsibility for the care of patients seen by fellows and must review the care of their patients.Perform procedures, which are specified by each program director, under the direct supervision of the attending physician. Fellows may only perform those procedures for which the attending physician has privileges. Once the fellow has performed the appropriate number of procedures competently, the program director will provide notification that the fellow is eligible to be certified to perform the procedure without direct supervision.Assume progressive responsibility for patient care activities according to fellow's level of education, ability, and experience. The program director and the attending staff will determine the fellow's level of responsibility and autonomy.Communicate effectively with their supervising attending regarding the findings of their evaluation, physical examination, interpretation of diagnostic tests, and intended interventions continuously.Participate fully in the educational and scholarly activities of the program and, as required, assume responsibility for teaching and supervising other fellows and students.Participate in appropriate institutional committees and councils whose actions affect their education and/or patient care including, but not limited to quality assurance and quality improvement activities.Develop a personal program of learning to foster continued professional growth with guidance from the teaching staff.Abide by all University policies and procedures, including the provisions of the GME Fellow Policy and Procedure Manual, the residency training programs, and the regulations of any affiliated institution to which the fellows may be assigned.
    GRADED RESPONSIBILITIES:

    The fellow physician is both a learner and a provider of medical care. The fellow physician is involved in caring for patients under the supervision of more experienced physicians. As their training progresses, fellow physicians are expected to gain competence and require less supervision, progressing from on-site and contemporaneous supervision to more indirect and periodic supervision.Fellow physicians are given progressive responsibility for the care of the patient. The determination of a fellow physician's ability to provide care to patients without a supervisor present or act in a teaching capacity is based on formative evaluations and summative evaluations of the fellow physician's clinical experience, judgment, knowledge, and technical skill. These evaluations follow institutional guidelines and align fellow physician learning about the general competencies of medical knowledge, patient care, practice-based learning, interpersonal and effective communication, professionalism, and systems-based practice.Ultimately, it is the decision of the staff practitioner with direct responsibility of the fellow as to which activities the fellow will be allowed to perform within the context of the assigned levels of responsibility. The overriding consideration must be the safe and effective care of the patient is the responsibility of the staff practitioner.Both formal examinations and performance ratings by the faculty are utilized, and the fellow physician is personally apprised of his or her strengths and weaknesses at appropriate intervals at least twice annually. Completion by the program director of an annual summative review is an important part of this evaluation process. The Residency Program Director has the responsibility to determine and to document in writing, that the fellow physician possesses the skills necessary to practice at the level commensurate with their training.
    EDUCATION:

    Applicants must meet one of the following qualifications to be eligible for appointment to ACGME-accredited residency and fellowship programs at CDU:

    Graduates of medical schools in the United States and Canada accredited by the Liaison Committee on Medical Education (LCME) and successful completion of any pre-requisite accredited training specified by ACGME Residency Review Committees. Some programs require successful passage of board exams (or good faith effort to pass) for promotion through subsequent years of fellowship.Graduates of colleges of osteopathic medicine in the United States accredited by the American Osteopathic Association (AOA) and successful completion of any pre-requisite accredited training specified by ACGME Residency Review Committees.Graduates of medical schools outside the United States and Canada who meet one of the following qualifications:
    Have a currently valid certificate from the Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates before appointment, orHave a full and unrestricted license to practice medicine in a US licensing jurisdiction in which they are in training, andSuccessful completion of any pre-requisite accredited training specified by ACGME Residency Review Committees.Graduates of medical schools outside the United States who have completed a Fifth Pathway program provided by an LCME-accredited medical school and successful completion of any pre-requisite accredited training.

    Under the direction and supervision of the Program Director, the Radiologic Technology Clinical Coordinator secures, develops, and maintains clinical affiliations and oversees all clinical curricula. Responsibilities include clinical education, supervision, and evaluation of students assigned to the various clinical affiliates as defined by the community standards of practice. The Clinical Coordinator provides and contributes to the education of adult learners in the field of radiologic technology and teaches radiology theory and/or clinical courses. The duties and responsibilities associated with the position will occur both within the department as well as in the college and university setting.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
    • Correlates clinical education with didactic education

    • Contributes to teaching in the undergraduate Radiologic Technology program and maintaining current knowledge of program policies, procedures, and student progress.

    • Evaluates students

    • Participates in didactic and/or clinical instruction

    • Participates in student advising• Supports the program director to help assure effective program operation

    • Coordinates clinical education and evaluates its effectiveness

    • Recruit clinical sites that complement and strengthen the clinical education

    Qualifications/Requirements:

    EDUCATION:

    Bachelor's or Master's degree in Radiology education, Health Science, or Health Care Administration, or equivalent experience in a related field.
    LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS (IF APPLICABLE):
    • Current standing as an American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)-registered radiologic technologist, with a minimum of two (2) years of clinical experience.
    • State of California license for radiologic technology.
    • American Health Association Healthcare Provider CPR certification.
    • Valid California driver's license and proof of insurability

    EXPERIENCE:

    Evidence of prior college-level instruction and supervision of radiologic technology students in a Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT)-accredited program.Experience with students in a clinical environment.Have an excellent academic record that indicates a strong foundation of teaching in a Radiography Program.Experience in imaging science specialties, such as US, CT, MRI, and Mammography desired.
    KNOWLEDGE/ABILITY/SKILLS:

    Job Summary:

    The Residency Program Coordinator manages the day-to-day operations of the Family Medicine Residency Program and serves as a key liaison among residents, faculty, institutional partners, and the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME). As a core member of the program leadership team, the Residency Program Coordinator plays a critical role in accreditation compliance, educational programming, resident support, and continuous program improvement.

    This role requires strong leadership, organizational expertise, systems thinking, and deep working knowledge of graduate medical education. Individuals in this role are formally recognized by the ACGME as Program Coordinators. The position supports Charles R. Drew University's mission to develop culturally responsive physicians committed to health equity, service excellence, and care for underserved communities.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities

    Program Administration & Operations

    Manage all operational activities of the residency program to ensure program goals and educational objectives are met.Develop, maintain, and oversee the annual residency timeline and critical events calendar.Organize administrative workload; track priorities, deadlines, and work-in-progress; and keep the Program Director informed.Maintain and update residency policies, procedures, and handbooks, including competency-based goals and objectives for rotations.Coordinate residency special events, projects, orientation, onboarding, and off-boarding processes.Take minutes for residency-related meetings and maintain a structured documentation system.
    Accreditation, Compliance & Reporting

    Maintain detailed working knowledge of ACGME Program Requirements, updates, and reporting standards (WebADS, annual updates, site visits).Prepare, maintain, and update all documentation required for ACGME accreditation and site visits.Ensure resident and program records meet ACGME and institutional compliance requirements.Manage data systems for program reporting, analysis, and continuous improvement.Assist the Program Director with program evaluation, identification of deficiencies, and implementation of best practices.
    Resident Management & Support

    External Liaison & Regulatory Oversight

    Serve as liaison between the residency program and the GME Office, Medical Board of California, ABFM, and other regulatory bodies.Oversee resident training license renewals, California licensure, and DEA applications; proactively troubleshoot complex cases.Coordinate off-site rotations, credentials, and Program Letters of Agreement (PLAs).
    Financial & Administrative Support

    ABOUT THE POSITION

    The CAP Fellowship Program Coordinator is responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the Child and Adolescent Psychiatry (CAP) Fellowship Training Program. This role serves as a vital liaison between fellows, faculty, staff, the Graduate Medical Education (GME) office, and the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME). The Coordinator supports the program director in accreditation processes and fellow support, while also collaborating with the research team on clinical studies. Responsibilities include assisting with IRB submissions, administering informed consents, managing research surveys and data, and helping prepare NIH progress reports.

    In this role, the Coordinator is expected to develop a strong understanding of ACGME program requirements, policies, and procedures, and is officially recognized as a 'Program Coordinator' by the ACGME.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

    Manages Fellowship Program operational activities and ensures fellowship program goals and objectives are accomplished. Liaisons with the Program Leadership on program evaluation, remediation of deficiencies, and development of "best practices" improvement to ensure compliance with accreditation standards. Consults with Program Director (PD) and advises on issues concerning fellow selection, appointment, reappointment, and termination requirements and policies. Partners with PD and faculty to ensure efficient and effective fellowship candidate interview processes; advises fellow-candidates on fellow selection process. Assists PD in responding to and resolving fellow issues and program administrative problems; aids PD in designing processes to address identified problems. Organizes fellowship program administrative workload, monitors status of work in progress, and keeps the PD informed of activity priorities and deadlines.     The Clinical Research Program Manager is responsible for the overall operational management of clinical research, trial, study activities from design, set up, conduct, through closeout, and all administrative management duties. In this role, you will be responsible and oversee the implementation of research activities for multiple studies.     Administrative Responsibilities

    Provide daily administrative, regulatory, financial, and business activities necessary to assist investigators in the conduct of clinical research at CDU. Serves as a point of contact for all faculty and staff.Manage the day-to-day operations of the CTRC, including personnel supervision, scheduling, workflow management, and performance evaluation.
    Independent study coordination including screening of potential patients for protocol eligibility, presenting non-medical trial concepts and details to the patients, and participating in the informed consent process.Scheduling of patients for research visits and procedures.Develop, implement, monitor, and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) to ensure efficient and compliant study conduct. While maintaining accurate source documents related to all research procedures.Track and report key performance indicators (KPIs) related to study volume, participant enrollment, sponsor satisfaction, and financial performance.Plans and coordinates strategies for increasing patient enrollment, and/or improving clinical research efficiency.
