LNA Program Purpose
To grow qualified LNA staff at CVHHH and better serve the Central Vermont community members in need of home health LNA services.
LNA Program Mission
To educate and train CVHHH employees for the role of Licensed Nursing Assistant, prepare them to pass the nursing assistant licensure exam, and to be caring and competent licensed nursing assistants who provide high-quality, patient-centered basic care services to CVHHH clients.
LNA Program Outcomes
LNA program graduates will:
Understand basic structure and function of body systems, including growth and development stages across the lifespan.Recognize signs and symptoms of common body system disorders and conditions, as well as emergency situations. Demonstrate basic personal care and skills within LNA scope of practice.Comprehend basic health care delivery elements and considerations such as legal and ethical issues, communication, confidentiality, documentation, health care settings, and payment sources.Achieve LNA licensure within Vermont. Practice the LNA role as a CVHHH employee in home care, hospice or long-term care services.LNA Program Student Evaluation
All students will be evaluated in the classroom, lab and clinical settings. Classroom evaluation consists of daily quizzes covering the content discussed that day. Lab evaluation of skills consists of skills checklists for competency. Clinical evaluation consists of a formative daily clinical evaluation tool and a final summative clinical evaluation tool.
What You'll Do as an LNAAs an LNA-In-Training, you'll work under the supervision of licensed nurses, providing direct patient care and supporting daily unit operations. You'll develop essential clinical skills while making a meaningful impact on patients' lives every day.
