About the Role
Central Texas Recruiting is seeking a detail-oriented Quality Assurance Supervisor for a client in Midlothian, TX to lead the QA team in a food manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for ensuring products meet quality and food safety standards, implementing and maintaining food safety programs, and overseeing all QA documentation and compliance activities. Key Responsibilities
Supervise, train, and mentor QA personnel while enforcing attendance and performance standards
Review and audit production paperwork, batch records, inspections, and sanitation reports for accuracy
Lead investigations into OOSs, NCMRs, deviations, customer complaints, and CAPAs
Ensure compliance with GMP, GDP, FDA regulations, and company policies
Oversee MRB, Food Safety, and Product Complaint discussions to resolve quality issues
Coordinate reworks, NCMRs, and inventory-related QA processes
Maintain audit-ready QA/QC documentation, reports, protocols, and policies
Administer change control and promote Good Documentation Practices
Conduct monthly internal GMP audits across all departments and generate reports
Approve and maintain supplier qualification records; oversee employee training records
Monitor QMS programs such as HACCP, allergen control, sanitation, environmental control, Kosher, Halal, and personal hygiene compliance
Ensure proper calibration and preventive maintenance of QA equipment and instruments
Assist in developing and updating Food Safety, Food Defense, and process control plans
Support FDA, NSF, Kosher, Halal, and other inspections and audits
Share knowledge and best practices with production teams to support quality improvements
Perform additional duties as assigned
Qualifications & Requirements
Work Eligibility: U.S. Work Authorization Required
Education & Experience:
Bachelors degree in chemistry, chemical engineering, biology, microbiology, food science, or a related scientific discipline
3 4 years of supervisory experience in QA within food, nutraceutical, or pharmaceutical manufacturing
Masters degree with 2 years of relevant QA supervisory experience is a plus
Hands-on experience working on the manufacturing floor
Skills & Abilities:
Strong leadership with team coaching and mentoring experience
Proficient with database and manufacturing software; Excel, Word, and Oracle knowledge is a plus
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
Ability to interpret and implement regulatory requirements and company procedures
Solid communication skills for cross-departmental collaboration
Physical Requirements:
Ability to stand, walk, sit, use hands, reach, talk, and hear regularly
Occasional lifting up to 25 lbs; vision requirements include close, distance, color, peripheral vision, and depth perception
Exposure to wet/humid conditions, moving machinery, and airborne particles in production areas
