ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1.
Provides regional (site specific) non patient care leadership of Advanced Practice Providers. Serves as a resource to APP’s in addressing employee relation issues that may arise.
2.
Works collaboratively with other Lead APP’s, VP of Clinical Care and VP of Clinical Quality to effectively recruit and onboard new APP’s.
3.
Works collaboratively with VP of Clinical Care and VP of Clinical Quality to onboard and advise new Physicians in site specific region. This includes facilitating hospital orientation.
Meets monthly with Clinic Operations Manager for regional specific site to discuss any provider concerns to be escalated to APP Leadership, Division Lead or Market President
Clinician Liaison to regional site-specific location.
4.
Provides analysis of regional (site specific) quality metrics.
5.
Conducts performance evaluations to APP’s.
6.
Assists in creating work schedules and call coverage for APP’s
7.
Provides APP training and education
Assists in Coordination of Medical Students, APP Students, Student Internship Coordination
8.
Assesses patient health status including state of wellness, compliance with care plan and determines appropriate diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.
9.
Provides acute and chronic patient care including taking histories, doing physicals, monitoring therapies, giving injections, suturing wounds and prescription medication in accordance with Arizona State Physician Assistant Statutes and DEA requirements.
Quarterly narcotic log review with supervising physician.
10.
Triages patient calls and evaluates patient problems.
11.
Responds to emergencies including the use of CPR.
12.
Documents patient information and care provided in patient record and maintains patient statistics.
13.
Educates patients and families as appropriate. Provides continuity of care.
14.
Assists the physicians with surgeries in the operating room.
15.
Participates in rounds at the hospital and responds to patient calls received after hours and on weekends.
16.
Consults with other staff as necessary.
17.
Maintains patient confidentiality.
The job holder must demonstrate current competencies for job position.
EDUCATION:
1.
BA/BS, MS preferred. Graduate of ARC-PA accredited physician assistant program.
EXPERIENCE:
1.
Minimum of two years’ experience as a physician assistant in a clinic or hospital. Experience in orthopedics is required.
REQUIREMENTS:
1.
Current AZ state PA license, certified by National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants, current CPR certification. At least one year of experience with The CORE Institute to become acquainted with our culture and methodology.
KNOWLEDGE:
1.
Knowledge of acute and chronic protocols, administration of medications, delivering physical care following treatment plan.
2.
Knowledge of how to assess patient health and measure/record physiologic and growth indices.
3.

Assesses patient health status including state of wellness, compliance with the care plan and determines appropriate diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.Provides acute and chronic patient care including taking histories, doing physicals,Assesses patient condition, establishes goals, treatments, and care plans in conjunction with the physician, patient/family.Ensures that appropriate treatment is performed in an interdisciplinary fashion, consulting with physicians about the impact of physical therapy factors on the patient’s health status.Documents findings, treatments, and other patient information for the medical record.Educates patient/family on appropriate care and use of various therapies/exercises.Serves as information/education resource for patients, families, and staff.Supervises Physical Therapy Assistants and Physical Therapy Technicians.Serves as a resource to Physical Therapy staff.Provides ongoing education to the Physical Therapy staff.Assists the director with patient care issues.Maintains patient confidentiality.The job holder must demonstrate current competencies for the job position.EDUCATION:
Requires a Master's degree and Current certification as a Physical Therapist
EXPERIENCE:
Two plus years of experience in Spine orthopedics and general orthopedics.
REQUIREMENTS:
Two years of experience in and outpatient physical therapy clinic. Experience with orthopedics is preferred
KNOWLEDGE:
Knowledge of acute and chronic protocols, administration of medications, delivering physical care following the treatment plan.Knowledge of how to assess patient health and measure/record physiologic and growth indices.Knowledge of health promotion principles and techniques and patient learning measurements.SKILLS:
Skill in gathering and analyzing physiological, socioeconomic, and emotional patient data.Skill in accurately evaluating patient problems in person or via phone and providing appropriate advice, intervention, or referral.Skill in evaluating and revising the care plan based on patient changes.ABILITIES:
