We are seeking a skilled and safety-conscious Bilingual Friction Crane Operator to operate lattice boom cranes powered by friction systems for lifting, moving, and positioning heavy loads on construction and industrial sites. The ideal candidate will have in-depth experience operating friction cranes and be well-versed in rigging practices, safety protocols, and load handling dynamics. This role requires close coordination with riggers and site teams to ensure efficient and secure lifting operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Operate friction-driven lattice boom cranes to lift and move materials and equipment according to site plans and project requirements.Conduct pre-operation and post-operation inspections of the crane and rigging gear to ensure safety and functionality.Set up crane components, including boom, counterweights, and rigging configurations, ensuring proper stability and ground conditions.Communicate with riggers, signalers, and site supervisors via hand signals and radio for precise maneuvering.Monitor crane functions and make necessary adjustments to avoid overloading or unsafe conditions.Perform routine maintenance and basic troubleshooting of friction crane systems.Adhere to safety protocols, OSHA standards, load charts, and job site-specific requirements.Maintain accurate records of daily crane activities, inspections, and maintenance logs.Requirements:
Minimum 3 years of proven experience operating friction cranes.Valid crane operator certification (e.g., NCCCO with Lattice Boom Crane endorsement or equivalent).Solid understanding of mechanical friction systems and manual clutch/brake operations.Strong knowledge of rigging, load dynamics, and safe lifting practices.Physical stamina and the ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical training a plus.Excellent spatial awareness, depth perception, and communication skills.Bilingual (Spanish - English)Preferred Skills:
