    Job Description

    CD PROJEKT RED is looking for an Expert Graphics Engineer to join our Boston office and work on Project Sirius—a multiplayer game set in the Witcher universe. In this role, you’ll support the development and optimization of high-performance graphics systems for our open-world multiplayer experience. You’ll collaborate with artists and engineers to deliver stunning visuals through advanced rendering, shaders, lighting, and graphical enhancements. Your expertise will help ensure our solutions are efficient, scalable, and aligned with the game’s creative vision. You'll also partner with the Lead Graphics Engineer to shape and execute short- and long-term technical roadmaps.

    Daily Responsibilities

    Design, implement, and optimize rendering systems to support high visual fidelity.Build and maintain custom rendering tech within a third-party engine.Collaborate with the art and tech art teams to create efficient tools and workflows that enhance visual impact.Work across disciplines to develop innovative rendering approaches for large-scale, open-world environments.Maintain, debug, and enhance existing graphics systems to improve performance and memory usage.Partner with the Lead Graphics Engineer to support the growth of less experienced engineers and contribute to team-wide technical guidance.Promote high code quality and adherence to engineering standards.Actively seek and incorporate feedback to improve system design and performance.Qualifications

    Typically, candidates bring 10+ years of experience in game development, with at least 5 years focused on graphics programming.Experience working on AAA console titles, especially using Unreal Engine.Proficiency in C++ with a deep understanding of graphics programming.Strong knowledge of rendering techniques, shaders, ray tracing, and GPU/CPU architecture.Proven ability to troubleshoot and resolve GPU-related crashes and performance issues.Experience with Unreal Engine 4/5, ideally with a shipped title.Familiarity with low-level graphics APIs (DirectX12, Vulkan) and tools like RenderDoc or Pix.Strong interest in visual innovation and quality in games.Solid multithreaded programming skills.Demonstrated ability to optimize performance at a low level.Excellent problem-solving skills, communication, and collaborative mindset.

    Nice to Haves

    Experience implementing virtual geometry and global illumination techniques.Hands-on experience with hardware ray tracing.Familiarity with platform-specific memory management and optimizations.

    Job Description

    CD PROJEKT RED is looking for an Engineering Director to join our office in Boston and drive the gameplay systems of Project Sirius, an online multiplayer game set in the world of The Witcher.  As an Engineering Director, you'll combine your leadership skills with your deep technical expertise to shape the future of our gameplay systems, driving innovation and delivering unforgettable gaming experiences.

    Daily Responsibilities

    Establish and oversee the architecture and technical strategy for gameplay features and systems.Lead and mentor a team of talented engineering managers and engineers, fostering a collaborative and innovative environment.Develop strategic plans for the gameplay teams, including resource allocation, project timelines, and technology roadmaps.Collaborate closely with art, animation, design, and other engineering teams to align gameplay features & systems with the creative vision for the project.Drive standards for clean, high-quality, and efficient C++ code, ensuring best practices in optimization, readability, and maintainability.Ensure thorough documentation, both in-code and for broader knowledge-sharing, enabling smooth onboarding and collaboration within the team and across departments.Direct efforts to proactively identify and resolve issues, ensuring that character systems contribute to an overall polished and performant product.Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in gameplay technology and bring innovative ideas to the team.Qualifications

    Min. 10 years professional experience and at least 5 years of experience within the games industry.Experience in creating an AAA title for game consoles, debugging, and profiling these games in a console environment.Proven track record in managing a team.Good knowledge of Unreal Engine 5 environment - especially features and systems related to the gameplay area.Practical knowledge of gameplay features & systems implementation.Experience with Abilities Systems.Experience with NPCs and crowds.Experience with removing gameplay systems from the Main Thread.Knowledge of modern game gameplay systems architecture.Deep knowledge of C++.Math & algorithmic skills.Good & practical knowledge of code parallelization.Experience working in an Agile development environment is a plus.Focused on delivering the best results. Good spirit and team player approach with a mindset geared towards adaptability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders in a multilingual environment.
