Position Overview:
The Shift Supervisor is a key operational leader responsible for overseeing all manufacturing activities during an assigned shift in a 24/7 food manufacturing environment. This role ensures safe, efficient, and compliant production while leading and developing hourly team members. The Shift Supervisor drives daily execution by coordinating people, processes, and equipment to deliver high-quality products, meet production goals, and uphold company standards for safety, quality, and continuous improvement at the Cayuga Milk Ingredients facility.
The Shift Supervisor serves as the primary point of leadership on their shift, maintaining a strong floor presence, resolving issues in real time, and escalating concerns as appropriate to the Production Manager.
Key Responsibilities
Shift Operations & Execution
Lead and oversee all manufacturing operations during the assigned shift, including raw milk receiving, batching/processing, packaging, warehousing, utilities, sanitation (CIP), and support functions.Execute daily production schedules to meet safety, quality, cost, and efficiency targets.Ensure effective CIP changeover and turnaround times from product stop to product start.Monitor labor utilization, equipment performance, and material flow to minimize downtime and waste.Act as the owner of shift execution, ensuring the right people, processes, and materials are in place to deliver safe, quality food efficiently.Team Leadership & Development

Position Overview:
The Production Planner is responsible for developing and maintaining the production plan for dairy processing and packaging operations to ensure efficient utilization of raw milk, ingredients, labor, and processing capacity while meeting customer demand and regulatory requirements.
Under the direction of the Sr. Director of Operations, this role supports forecasting, milk balancing, and production scheduling across processing, packaging, laboratory, and warehouse functions ensures that raw milk supply is converted into finished dairy products in a manner that maximizes yield, minimizes product loss, and maintains compliance with food safety, quality, and traceability requirements under the SQF Food Safety Management System.
The role requires strong coordination across departments to align milk supply, ingredient availability, packaging materials, storage capacity, and code-date limitations with customer commitments.
Key Responsibilities
Production Planning & Scheduling
Maintain the Master Production Plan for dairy processing and packaging operations based on demand forecasts, raw milk supply, processing capacity, and inventory levels.Generate and distribute daily and weekly production schedules to Processing, Packaging, Laboratory, Warehouse, and Blow Mold departments.Release production orders and manufacturing work orders through the ERP system to support execution of the production plan.Communicate schedule changes promptly to all affected departments to prevent production delays, material shortages, or excess inventory.Milk Balancing & Yield Management
Plan production schedules to balance daily raw milk intake with finished product requirements, ensuring optimal utilization of available milk components.Coordinate processing plans to support efficient fat, protein, and solids utilization across product lines.Monitor production yields and identify opportunities to improve milk utilization and minimize product loss or shrink.Work with Processing, Quality, and Operations teams to ensure production runs support optimal yield recovery and product specifications.Align production plans with storage capacity and shelf-life/code-date constraints typical in fluid and cultured dairy products.Forecasting & Inventory Management

Position Summary
The Wastewater Treatment/Utilities Operator is responsible for operating and maintaining the Cayuga Milk Ingredients anaerobic wastewater treatment plant and lift stations. This role involves performing a variety of skilled technical duties, assisting maintenance staff, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct routine inspections of plant operations through SCADA system monitoring, visual observations, and instrumentation readings.Monitor and document remote facilities and lift stations, addressing or reporting abnormal conditions.Operate, adjust, and maintain pumps, valves, motors, and other essential equipment; receive and unload chemical deliveries.Maintain accurate operation logs and reports, performing necessary calculations.Collect samples and conduct routine wastewater quality laboratory tests for process control and regulatory compliance.Perform general facility maintenance, including cleaning, minor repairs, and equipment upkeep.Respond to emergency alarms and calls as required, including after-hours availability when needed.Operate equipment and vehicles for grounds maintenance, snow removal, and other facility needs.Support safety initiatives, review chemical SDS sheets, and adhere to safe work practices.Utilize software applications such as Microsoft Office, Wonderware HMI/SCADA, and Bigfoot CMMS.Ensure compliance with all Federal, State, and local laws and regulations.Assist in troubleshooting and maintaining all treatment equipment.Maintain inventory levels of wastewater treatment and maintenance supplies.Work with cross-functional teams including engineering, production, quality, and sanitation personnel to manage waste streams and troubleshoot issues.Communicate technical and analytical data through reports, charts, and graphs.Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance cost efficiency and operational effectiveness.Set up and calibrate analytical/testing equipment as needed.Keep wastewater treatment plant and maintenance areas clean and organized.Promote a safety-first culture and ensure compliance with company policies.Required Qualifications

Quality Lab Technician is a detail-oriented role within our aseptic dairy manufacturing facility.
