    As a MES Engineer, you will lead project execution from concept to commissioning for a wide range of automation systems. You’ll be hands-on in designing, programming, implementing, and optimizing control and MES systems—while mentoring junior engineers and guiding teams through complex automation challenges.
    Key Responsibilities:Demonstrates knowledge and implementation of Business Intelligence systems; i.e. Wonderware System Platform, Inductive Automation, Dashboard programming, etc.Database Development and Design.SQL Query Optimization.Data Modeling and Database Administration.Troubleshooting and Debugging SQL Code and stored procedures.Proficiency in SQL Programming.Strong Knowledge of Database Management Systems (DBMS)Data Analysis and Reporting.Demonstrates knowledge and implementation of design strategies for enterprise databases, data warehouse systems, and multidimensional networks. Set standards for database operations, programming, query processes, and security. Model, design, and construct large relational databases or data warehouses.Identify changes in scope and notify Project Manager in a timely manner.Assist in the design of control systems (I/O and Motor lists, P&IDs, etc.)Develop approaches to solve problems, handle customer demands, changes and complaints.Guide less experienced employees technically.Contribute a broad technical competence to the team, along with superior communication, correspondence, and mediation skills.Assist in managing project’s resources, schedule, budget and scope.Provides input and resolves issues during the Estimating and Fabrication processes.Create Functional Requirements Specification documents with the corresponding FAT and SAT plans.Develop MES systems and procedures for customers to help meet their needs.Design and develop database structures and systems to integrate into control and process systems.This position will require about 50% travel, both domestic and international.
    Education and Experience:BS Degree in Engineering or equivalent in Automation experience plus ten years of experience.Multiple Major Automation Provider Certifications or Professional Engineer.
    Soft Skills: Leadership Training.Ability to lead teams.Communication.Demonstrate mastery of Automation programming software.Read and modify electrical schematics, PFDs and P&IDs.Strong communications skills and ability to incorporate high performance teams of diverse individuals.Can set the direction for an entire project team.Excellent customer service skills with a proven record of high client satisfaction.Requires only periodic direction from the Project Manager.Demonstrate strong communication with colleagues, management and customers.Completes tasks on schedule.Complies with the rules, procedures and policies as delivered by the organization.Get the appropriate colleague, manager or customer involved to resolve issues early on in the development process.
    Technical Skills: RS Logix.Wonderware System Platform.Rockwell FactoryTalk View Studio.OSHA.NEC / UL 508A.VFD Setup (A-B, Yaskawa, Mitsubishi, etc.).AutoCAD.Solve problems and learn quickly.Provide technical competence during project execution.Help in the design and implementation of control systems.

You will become an important member of a very talented and dynamic team within our industry. If this sounds like you, please read on!
    The Role:Wire all components on the back panel and enclosure using the supplied drawing(s).Ensure all wires are labeled at both ends correctly and that there are no wire frays.Make sure all terminations are tight.Make sure all wire sizes and colors are correct per Cates standards.Log all time spent on each job into the appropriate software database using the traveler supplied with the drawings.Review all prints for discrepancies and questions prior to wiring of panels.Fill out all check sheets supplied with drawings for your department.All changes to drawings must be marked in red and signed by “changer” prior to handoff.Clean and maintain work area(s).Make sure all terminal labels are on and correct.
    Education and Experience:High school diploma or GED preferred.2-year prior experience preferred.This position requires a significant amount of bending and standing.Ability to read wiring schematic.UL 508A and NEC experience.

You will collaborate cross-functionally with customers, project managers, and manufacturing teams to solve challenges, improve processes, and uphold our commitment to quality. As a technical leader, you will play a critical role in shaping best practices, strengthening our design standards, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional growth within the engineering team.
    Key Responsibilities:Check and review designs as required.Assist in maintaining Quality Assurance System.Interface with customers, colleagues and manufacturing to resolve issues and provide guidance.Perform detailed Electrical / Mechanical designs for advanced projects.Demonstrate the ability to identify changes in scope and notify Project Manager in a timely manner.Requires minimum direction from the Senior Engineer or Project Manager and works completely unsupervised.Superior knowledge of the NFPA 70 (NEC), UL508A and other standards.Approves drawings and drawing sets for release to fabrication and to the customer.Train and mentor junior electrical design engineers on design techniques and best practices.
    Measurements:Errors and issues in the manufacturing stage of project is minimized - verified through Fabrication feedback.Have documented evidence that the Quality Assurance System is being followedComplete advanced designs within the scope of supply and create fully functional and operating designs.Quality of checked designs are free of errors.Design to project requirements with little or no changes required to meet scope of work, specification, and internal documents.Project drawings will be drafted using standard AutoCAD principles and correct use of AutoCAD Electrical. Materials and Design must meet specified standards.Efficient use of AutoCAD and AutoCAD Electrical based on content, scale, accuracy, speed and quality of designs - verified by hours billed vs. hours estimated.
    Education and Experience:Minimum of 10 years experience in Electrical Design of Power and Control systems. Extensive knowledge of NFPA 70, UL508A, and IEC standards. Must be able to understand, interpret and design to meet required codes and standards.Minimum of 10 years experience using AutoCad Electrical performing electrical design.Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, Technical Electrical School, Electrical Trade Apprentice Certificate, Journeyman License, Master Electrical License or other form of formal electrical training required.
    Skills:Must be able to understand, interpret and design to meet required codes and standards.Ability to do research and quickly learn on their own using the Internet and company resources.Management or Leadership training to help interfacing with people and communication skills.Electrical training (school, electrician, training courses).NFPA 70 (NEC) and UL 508A Training Course or equivalent job experience.UL508A (MTDR) certification required.AutoCAD Electrical software expertise is necessary and must have expert ability to design electrical schematics, point to point wiring diagrams, control panel layouts and designs, enclosure sheet metal designs, dimensioning, , and revision maintenance.Microsoft Excel.Maintain continuous quality improvement with a thorough understanding of Quality Assurance principles and practices. Must be able to create and review quality standards to meet CSIA requirements. Have a thorough knowledge of control panel fabrication practices. Must be able to interface with craft labor and understand their needs. Extensive knowledge and skills in order to design any control system required.Must be capable of researching scope, materials, and parts with a total understanding of what is required to design a fully operating control system.Expert capabilities are required to create designs that meet NFPA, UL and other required standards.Up to date knowledge of NFPA Codes and Standards.Expert knowledge of Hazardous Locations for NFPA and IEC. Knowledge of Intrinsically Safe Systems and Purge Systems necessary.
