Cates Control Systems is seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Label / Engraving Technician to join our growing team in Plano, TX. This role is essential to the production of high-quality control panels and programmable logic controller (PLC) systems used in industrial automation.

Position Summary
The Label / Engraving Technician is responsible for producing, engraving, and organizing labels and nameplates used in control panel assemblies. This role ensures all labeling components meet design specifications, quality standards, and production timelines while maintaining proper inventory levels.
Key Responsibilities
· Print all terminal tags from wiring schematics
· Engrave inside/outside tags according to schematics
· Ensure all tags and plates meet quality standards
· Maintain appropriate inventory levels of plastic, marker cards and printer labels
· Change traveler status in i-Prep once tags are complete
· Periodic cleaning of equipment to maintain reliability of all labeling tools
· Cut, strip and label wire lengths using the Komax machine
· Support production schedules by completing assigned tasks efficiently and on time
Qualifications
High school diploma or GED (preferred) 1–2 years of experience in manufacturing, engraving, labeling, or a related field (preferred) Ability to read and interpret electrical wiring schematics Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality Effective organizational and time management skills Ability to manage multiple tasks in a deadline-driven environment Basic computer proficiency (ERP systems experience a plus) Strong written and verbal communication skillsWhy Join Cates Control Systems?
