Pay and Shift Details
Up to $29.97 per hour base pay, based on experience
includes $1.00 per hour off-shift premium
includes $4.00 per hour retention bonus after successful completion of training.
Incremental increases will be applied every 26 weeks until the maximum rate is reached.
Shift: 2nd- M-F 2:00 pm-10:00 pm; 3rd shift Su-Th 10:00 pm to 6:00 am
Training completed on 1st shift for the first 4 to 5 weeks (M-F 6:00 am-2:00 pm)
2nd and 3rd shift available - Full Time - East Peoria LL
Caterpillar is hiring MIG Welders for 2nd and 3rd shift at our East Peoria manufacturing facility LL. This is a full-time production welding job offering Day 1 benefits as well as Company Provided PPE such as Safety Glasses (includes prescription safety glasses) and Weld Hood as well as Safety Boot Reimbursement.
What You Will Do
Perform MIG welding and GMAW welding on steel components
Weld plain and alloy steel in all positions
Operate robotic welding equipment in a production environment
Follow standard work, safety procedures, and quality requirements
Perform carbon arc cutting and gouging
Use overhead cranes and jib cranes to position materials
Required Experience
At least 1 year of production MIG or GMAW welding experience
Experience welding steel 1/2 inch thickness or greater
Basic computer skills
Qualifications
Ability to pass Caterpillar weld qualification testing
Ability to work 2nd or 3rd shift and overtime as needed
Top Candidates will also possess:
Good communication skills and strong commitment to safety and teamwork
Ability to work well individually or in a team environment
Additional Information:
90 Day probationary period includes weld school training
This position is located in East Peoria Bldg LL
No relocation package is available
Must be able to pass welder qualification requirements during the Caterpillar provided training by a Certified Welding Educator (CWE), Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) or approved personnel

Caterpillar has exciting opportunity for an Electrician at our East Peoria, IL (Undercarriage Building BB) facility! Pay starts at $37.67 plus $1.00 per hour shift differential (for 2nd & 3rd shift). This full-time position offers benefits including health insurance, paid time off, paid holidays, 401K etc.
We offer a $5,000 retention bonus for this role. The bonus is paid in two installments of $2,500 at the end of each calendar quarter. New hires are eligible for the first installment at the end of the quarter in which they start.
As an Electrician, you will be responsible building, installing and repairing electrical and electronic circuits used on machine tools and plant equipment. While applying your knowledge the operations of electrical units and systems, you will test and diagnose malfunctions.
Job Duties/Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
Build, install, repair electrical and electronic circuits used on machine tools and plant equipment
Apply knowledge of operation of electronic circuits to locate defects using instruments
Test faulty equipment
Apply knowledge of operation of electronic units and systems to diagnose malfunctions
Utilize oscilloscopes, signal generators, electronic counter, recorders, etc.
Calibrate and service electronic testing instruments
Electrically troubleshoot and repair complex machine tools and related equipment
Troubleshoot and repair relay logic machines and CNC/PLC controlled machines
Support electrical aspects of new equipment installation
Required Qualifications
Demonstrate comprehension of oral instructions and/or printed work orders to determine work assignments and material and equipment needs
Satisfactorily demonstrate proficiency in electrical and electronic theory and application relating to plant operations and equipment
Demonstrate an intermediate working knowledge of interpreting schematics and electrical diagrams
Possess three years of experience, or demonstrate the equivalent, before performing intermediate tasks on electrical and electronic machinery and equipment
Obtain two years of experience, or demonstrate the equivalent, before performing basic mechanical installation or repair to equipment
Desired Qualifications
Conduit bending experience

The Machining Trainee program is a paid program designed to provide a unique learning experience for highly motivated individuals who are interested in pursuing a career in machining.
