A Catalyst Academy the 6th GradeTeacher is responsible f or planning and delivering engaging lessons to middle school scholars, ensuring a strong understanding of core concepts through diverse teaching methods, while fostering a positive learning environment and supporting individual scholar needs; key duties include utilizing lesson plans aligned with state standards, assessing scholar progress regularly, collaborating with colleagues, their Dean of Instruction, and communicating effectively with family members.
Key Responsibilities:
Curriculum
Utilize designated curricula, implement comprehensive lesson plans that align with state standards and middle school curricula.
IIncorporate diverse teaching methods like hands-on activities, experiments, group work, technology-based learning, and differentiated instruction to cater to varying learning styles.
Utilizing relevant assessments (quizzes, tests, projects) to measure student understanding and progress.
Classroom Instruction:
Deliver clear and concise explanations of related concepts, using appropriate vocabulary and visuals.
Facilitate active learning through discussions, questioning, and problem-solving activities.
Monitor scholar participation and provide timely feedback to promote understanding and engagement.
Manage classroom dynamics to maintain a positive and productive learning environment.
ScholarSupport:
Identify individual scholar needs and provide targeted interventions or additional support as required.
Collaborate with colleagues and school support staff to address student learning challenges and provide appropriate accommodations.
Communicate regularly with families regarding scholar progress, concerns, and potential areas of improvement.
Assessment and Evaluation:
Regularly assess scholar learning through a variety of methods including formative and summative assessments, observations, and projects
Analyze scholar data to inform instructional decisions and adjust teaching strategies as needed
Maintain accurate records of scholar performance and provide timely feedback to scholars.
Professional Development:
Stay current with best practices in middle school .
Participate in collaborative planning and reflection with colleagues to improve teaching effectiveness
Integrate technology effectively into the classroom to enhance learning experiences
Required Skills and Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree with a related education certification appropriate for middle school
Demonstrated knowledge of middle school curriculum and state standards
Strong classroom management skills and ability to create a positive learning environment
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with scholars, and colleagues
Proficiency in using technology tools to support instruction and assessment
Passion for teaching and a commitment to scholar success
Pay: From $51,800.00 per year
