    We are currently offering up to a $10,000 sign-on bonus for experienced EPG Field Technician new hires. Carter Machinery Company, the authorized Caterpillar dealer serving Virginia, West Virginia, Maryland, Delaware and Washington D.C. is hiring an Electric Power Generation (EPG) Field Technician in Elkridge, Maryland. The Electric Power Generation (EPG) Field Technician position is responsible for accurately diagnosing, troubleshooting and repairing complex operational failures to electrical generator systems and related basic engine failures at customer sites. Seeking candidates with a minimum three years' experience diagnosing, troubleshooting, and repairing complex issues and performing heavy electrical repairs to electrical generator systems and related equipment; Must have experience performing megger and vibration testing and genset alignment; Must have experience installing and commissioning gensets; High school diploma or GED required. Minimum of three years relevant Electrical Power Generation (EPG)/electronics field experience required to be eligible for the $10,000 sign-on bonus. Candidates with less than 3 years' Electrical Power Generation (EPG)/electronics field experience are eligible for a $2,000 sign-on bonus. Bonuses are made in 2 equal installments at 90 days and 180 days of employment. Requirements for the Electric Power Generation (EPG) Field Technician position include: Must have excellent troubleshooting and analytical skills. Must have excellent mechanical aptitude. Must be able to work independently and as part of a team. Must be able to interact professionally with customers and all of levels of personnel within the organization. Must be a strong communicator with excellent verbal and written communications skills. Must be able to perform well under stressful situations.
