    POSITION SUMMARY:

    Cleans walls, lights, fixtures, and furniture in all assigned areas of the hospital to maintain an aseptic environment and prevent healthcare-associated infection using standard cleaning procedures and chemicals. Cleans, waxes, extracts, and maintains floors, carpeting, and stairwells and assists with heavy cleaning throughout the hospital. Maintains established departmental policies and procedures, objectives, quality assurance program, safety, environmental and infection control standards.

    POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

    Minimum Education:

    High School Diploma or equivalent education.

    Certification Preferred:

    CHEST (Certified Healthcare Environmental Services Technician) preferred within first year of employment.HWOERT (Hazardous Waste Operations & Emergency Response Training) certificate. Previous housekeeping experience preferred.

    Minimum Work Experience required:

    Must be available to work various shifts required.Must be able to read, write, speak, and comprehend the English language.

    POSITION ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

    Basic Housekeeping Duties

    Dust furniture, woodwork, equipment and dust mop floors.Polishes and cleans fixtures in utility rooms.Wet mops rooms, halls and public areas.Shampoos rugs and furniture and operates mechanical floor cleaners, polishers and vacuums.Cleans fixtures, tops of windows, doorframes, vents and high areas using a ladder.Cleans and disinfects all fixtures, floors, mirrors, windows, doors and walls of bathrooms.Ensures that carts and closets are locked.Ensures the safe handling, proper use and storage of hospital chemicals.

    Departmental Support

    Maintains occupied patient rooms through daily cleaning and restocking of all disposable supplies.Performs terminal cleaning of patient rooms and prepares room for new occupant.Cleans and disinfects all fixtures, floors, mirrors, windows, doors and walls of patient care bathrooms.Cleans wheelchairs and gurneys.

    Equipment

    Operates equipment in a safe manner.Ensure proper functioning of equipment and follows procedure when equipment malfunctions.

    POSITION SUMMARY:

    This position is accountable to perform clerical duties, act as a unit receptionist, coordinate unit/patient activities with other departments via proper use of the computer, telephone and volte, maintains an orderly and efficient nursing station relating to Patient Admitting Department and/or ER Department.

    Performs and coordinates a variety of functions relating to registration, admitting, and discharging.     The Behavioral Health Therapist for the Outpatient Behavioral Health Clinic provides quality and organized psychotherapy (individual, group and family) and social services for identified clients and families, with special emphasis on treatment and discharge planning needs. This position maintains accurate and up-to-date knowledge of all relevant regulations and standards regarding the provision of behavioral health services, and implementation of treatment and discharge planning. The BH Therapist assures the quality provision of services, collection/maintenance of data, and discharge planning/aftercare are all according to CVH policies and procedures. This position will also demonstrate professional/ethical behavior and support the philosophy of the Behavioral Health department, as well as CVH at all times.

    POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

    Minimum Education:

    Master's degree in a mental Health field from an accredited graduate school or a degree that supports an alternative acceptable licensure.

    License Required:

    CPC, LMFT, LCSW full unrestricted licensure acceptable for Master’s-level clinicians.

    Certificate Required:

    BLS Certification (or able to obtain within 90-days of hire).Non-violent Crisis Intervention Certification (or able to obtain within 90-days of hire).

    Credential Required:

    Ability to be credentialed with all CVH payors within six (6) months of hire.

    Minimum Work Experience:

    This position performs respiratory therapy procedures per protocol and those ordered by physicians to improve the cardiopulmonary conditions of patients from newborn to geriatric ages. Respiratory therapists work with patients in the intensive care unit, emergency room, and medical/surgical unit, and may provide respiratory care at secondary care sites with the mission and obligations of Carson Valley Health. This position also performs 12 lead EKGs and outpatient respiratory procedures that include pulmonary function testing and overnight oximetry testing.


    POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

    Minimum Education Required:

    Must be a graduate of an approved school of respiratory care.Must have working-level knowledge of the English language, including reading, writing, and speaking English.Computer literacy.

    Licensure Required:

    State of Nevada Board of Medical Examiners Respiratory Care Practitioner License.Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) (NBRC - National Board for Respiratory Care).

    Certifications Required:

Assesses patient’s condition through interviews and direct observation, including but not limited to vital signs, patient color, skin turgor, chest inspection, auscultation, sputum production, etc. with each patient interaction as indicated, including before and after therapeutic interventions.Uses data, facts, literature and consultation with the patient/family to make decisions that optimize patient outcomes.Provides physiological and psychological care in accordance with evidence based practice, Carson Valley Medical Center policies, and Nevada Revised Statues.Initiates and documents assessment in the patient’s medical record and department records consistent with department policies and practices.Remains current on all competencies, certifications, and training.Demonstrates the ability to provide a thorough concise report at change of shift or upon transfer of patient to another clinical area. Inclusive of: diagnosis, ventilator parameters, care plan, physician comments, diagnostic and lab reports, treatment schedule and impending activities (CT scan, Surgery, MRI, transport, etc.).This position is expected to integrate the respiratory care of the patient with other care providers to achieve desired results. They are responsible for the proper documentation of all patient records and department logs. In addition, they are responsible for keeping abreast of technological advances in applicable areas and are well versed in appropriate clinical applications.The Respiratory Therapist is accountable for the assessment, planning, implementation of care, and evaluation of Neonatal, Pediatric, Adult and Geriatric patients and families. They must demonstrate the ability to work with patient’s physical, motor/sensory adaptation, cognitive and psychosocial needs specific to the population being served.“Respiratory Care” means the treatment, management, diagnostic testing, control and care of persons with deficiencies and abnormalities with the cardiopulmonary system. The Respiratory Therapist has the authority to perform and evaluate respiratory care, initiate CPR, manage artificial airways, contact physicians, and perform all activities as assigned.This position does provide direct patient care.

    Code Team, Rapid Response Team, Trauma Team

    As member of the Code Team, Rapid Response team, and Trauma activation the Respiratory Therapist will responds to all overhead and phone pages. The Respiratory Therapist will remain in the room until cleared by the physician.Attends mock codes.

    Equipment

    Responsible for the setup, safety checks, monitoring, and troubleshooting of all equipment of the respiratory department.Responsible for maintaining the intubation trays in all crash carts throughout the hospital including the pediatric intubation boxes in the ER and the OR.

    EKG

    Performs 12 lead EKGs as ordered by the physician. Ensures that all EKG's done in the facility are charged and scanned into the patients EMR.

    Pulmonary Function Testing (PFT) and Overnight Pulse Oximetry Testing (OPO) (Dayshift FT Staff)

    Maintains yearly competency on the MGC Diagnostics Program and OPO device.Schedules outpatient PFTs/OPOs in a timely manner. Performs PFTs as ordered by the physician.Accurately and appropriately documents PFT/OPO results in the patients EMR.

    Knowledge/Certifications/Licensure

    Attends 75% of staff meetings during the year.Attends annual competency days as observed by the manager to keep current with new developments and acquire the needed knowledge for the position in order to keep skills up to date.Maintains required license and certifications for position.Attends hospital sponsored training programs as required by department.Completes continuing education programs in order to maintain state and NBRC licensure.Provides in-service education of clinical staff as assigned by the manager.

    Safety/Training Programs

    Support for Nursing Staff

    Assist nursing staff with procedures, including setting up equipment and ensuring a clean and organized environment.Transport patients to and from diagnostic tests, procedures, and other units as required.

    Maintain a clean and safe environment by following infection control protocols and ensuring proper disposal of waste and soiled linens.

    Documentation

    As directed, assists the care team by collecting patient care data at designated and appropriate intervals on all assigned patients. Reports findings to licensed staff.Recognizes and accurately reports relevant patient information to licensed staff.Communicates appropriate information regarding patient safety and infection control to RN or nurse manager.Ensures that all aspects of patient care are documented, and that documentation is accurate and complete.

    Certification:

    Assistant will draw blood, collect specimens, and run EKG's on patients, process those specimens including accessioning in the LIS. They will also organize, check off and deliver laboratory reports, file reports and requisitions, restock and clean as needed all areas of the laboratory, answer the phone and front window, and perform other duties as needed. By perform those functions in the laboratory; they will help to maintain a smooth workflow for the laboratory technologists.
