    Carpenter Co. has an immediate opening for a Compliance Analyst at our Corporate office in Richmond, Virginia. This position will be responsible for overseeing and ensuring that all packaging meets compliance requirements.

As the successful candidate, you will work with compliance team members to plan, coordinate and execute the corporate compliance strategy to include audit planning and preparation.

    Your additional responsibilities as the Compliance Analyst will include:

    Develop and maintain a comprehensive catalog of all retail customer routing, shipping and packaging instructions.Manage Carpenter library of routing guides including tracking updates and changes to guides and communicating those changes to the proper channels (Sales and Operations).Partner with credit to track and respond to chargebacks related to non-compliance.Actively participate in the Consumer Products Business team and the Compliance Working Group.Collaborate with packaging designers to ensure new packaging is properly designed and compliant with the customer's guidelines.Facilitate the introduction of new packaging so that all compliance issues are addressed. Periodically audit and verify current packaging to assure ongoing compliance.Develop, update, and improve standard packaging dimensions for the Consumer Division to ensure standard cartons meet the various customer standards for compliance.Learn and master SAP processes and transactions that impact the compliance process.Work with manufacturing plants to make sure they are up to date on all routing, packaging and logistic processes; conduct annual visits to manufacturing plants.Collaborate with wholesale partners to ensure all Carpenter packaging meets retailer requirements.Design and manage packaging specifications and review law tags for compliance.Partner with packaging engineers to conduct packaging tests (shake, drop, etc.) and confirm compliance with customer requirements.
    Skills/ Requirements

    Bachelors degree in Business Administration, Risk or other related field3+ years of compliance or audit experience within a manufacturing or retail organizationExperience with retail routing proceduresUnderstanding of packaging design and standards, preferredThorough understanding of production, manufacturing, product integrity & production cycle timelinesSAP or similar ERP experienceExcellent verbal and written communication skills.Ability to work in an innovative, fast-paced and highly collaborative team-oriented environmentAbility to travel up to 10%

    Carpenter Co. has an immediate opening for a Checker/Loader in our Shipping Department on 2nd Shift at our Riverside, California foam manufacturing plant. This position is responsible for safely and efficiently unloading/loading trucks, perform final quality check on finished product, and load on trailer per customer requirements.

    Carpenter Co. employees are committed to working hard to ensure production goals are met while maintaining operations excellence. The Checker Loader communicates with department coworkers, manager, company and commercial drivers. This position works in a normal manufacturing environment with exposure to temperature change. Major challenges include proper loading of material on trucks to maximize usage of space.

    Additional Responsibilities of the Checker/Loader:

    Must be forklift certifiedLoad trucks in proper sequence.Check loading tickets.Use forklift to load trailers as neededLockout trailers before loading and unlock once loading is complete.Record and track information in inventory control system.Verify trucks have been loaded properly.Move stock in loading area as necessary.Inspect trailers for damage.Run manifest and bills of lading.Handle finish bedding goods up to 75 lbs.Lock out and chock wheels.Use computers to scan rolls.Other duties as assigned by Supervisor
    Skills/Requirements

    High School Diploma or General Education DegreeOne year manufacturing experiencePrior Forklift experience preferredMust be able to use computerized equipment in day to day operations and have computer knowledge.Must be able to become forklift certifiedMust have basic reading, writing and math skills.Must be able to read and interpret a tape measureAbility to lift up to 75 pounds
    Pay depends on qualifications and experience. The Checker Loader hourly rate starts at $24.03 per hour.

    Carpenter Co. has an immediate opening for an Account Manager to help us grow Carpet Cushion Division in Atlanta, Georgia and surrounding areas. This position is responsible for maintaining relationships with existing clients and generating new business in the territory.

As the Account Manager, you will be expected to plan and implement sales by developing strategies, initiate innovation and communication while understanding the business model through planning and organizing. Thorough and effective communication with both Carpenter personnel and customer base must be maintained. This is a remote opportunity working from a home office.

    Your additional responsibilities as Account Manager will include:

    Carpenter Co. has a great opportunity available for Customer Service Representative at our Elkhart manufacturing branch. Reporting to the Customer Service Manager and working in tandem with fellow Customer Service Representatives, this position is responsible for all aspects of order entry, setting up deliveries for our customers, and providing outstanding customer service. Major responsibilities will include communicating with our customers, Traffic Manager, Plant Manager, Department Managers and loading docks, changing ship dates, confirming deliveries, and servicing our customers with professionalism and enthusiasm.

    Additional Responsibilities:

    Take, enter, and confirm orders.Update load schedule and provide updates to the docks.Communicate with production and shipping when customer places add-on's or same-day deliveries.Change ship dates in computer/SAP database.Keep the scheduling board up-to-date. Maintain three days closed out on board.Make and distribute truck sheets and make any necessary changes for customer service.Generate and distribute daily, weekly, and monthly reports to appropriate personnel.Keep track of major customers' deliveries and reports.Take and respond to customer phone calls, and proof orders.Provide occasional backup telephone coverage to our Receptionist.
    Skills/ Requirements

    Minimum high school diploma or equivalent2+ years of related customer service experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment dealing with business-to-business interactionsProficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook and Windows.Proficiency in mathematics, particularly percentages, fractions and measurements.SAP experience a major plus.Ability to work successfully in a team environment in proximity to co-workers and other office personnel.Great organization, planning, customer service, and people skills.
    Hours: 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM, with a one-hour lunch break, plus occasional overtime as needed.

    Carpenter Co. has an immediate opening for a Maintenance Mechanic- Electrician, on 1st and 2nd shift at our Lakeland, FL manufacturing plant. This position is responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, installing, or replacing mechanical equipment or mechanical, electrical and electro-mechanical devices and components.

The successful candidate will be expected to be able to install, repair and maintain to ensure the machinery is operating at an optimum production level necessary to manufacture products for internal and external customers. This position also operates in a normal maintenance and manufacturing environment with exposure to temperature changes.

    Your additional responsibilities as Maintenance Mechanic/ Electrician B will include:

    Assemble and disassemble equipment.Use a cutting torch, plasma cutter, cut-off saw, and machine shop equipmentRead and interpret basic machine diagrams and plant layout drawings. Interpret complicated drawings, using advanced shop math and handbook formulas.Perform preventative maintenance on assigned machinery and/or equipment.Recognize potential mechanical problems, plan a solution for repair, and implement the plan.Assist with the calibration of all in-plant electrical equipment.Maintain plant lighting systems, inside and outside of the building.Run conduit and/or initiated new electrical circuits.Communicate, accept input, and follow instructions from Mechanic/Electrician A or Lead Person.

    Skills and Requirements

    High school or GED required.2 to 3 years of specialty or technical training.Must have 1 to 3 years experience in industrial electrical systems. A state level license certification is preferred.1-2 years of Mechanic Electrician experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.Good communication and advanced math skills.Ability to read and interpret a tape measureAbility to earn a Carpenter Co. Forklift CertificationMust be able to work flexible hours.Must possess a variety of personally owned industrial/electrical hand tools.
