Responsibilities Daily inspection (primary responsibility) Special inspection (in areas where qualified) Participating in construction progress meetings Preliminary review of submittals, RFIs, RFCs, etc. to ensure they are complete prior to forwarding to engineers for formal review Review and acceptance of project schedule updates Review and acceptance of project schedule of values Preliminary review of change orders Generation and maintenance (along with project engineers) of project punchlist. Review and recommendation of construction pay applications Weekly review of contractor record drawings to ensure accuracy Assistance in start-up and commissioning activities Qualifications Minimum of 8 years of construction experience including water and wastewater plants, pipelines, and pumping facilities Completion of OSHA 10-hour safety course and other construction safety training Project lead experience Strong verbal and written communication skills Must be willing to travel regularly and be working in the field full time Preferred Qualifications Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management or a related field Compensation Range An employee's pay within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, and business or organizational needs. Responsibilities Responsible for budget monitoring Monitors and enforces construction quality Responsible for monitoring, observing and reporting on safety issues of the project site Prepares monthly contract status reports, budget reviews, amendment requests and negotiations Coordinates personnel and construction activities with other construction managers throughout the companies Responsible for preparing and participating in interviews Develops portions of proposals and prepares meeting agendas Prepares and negotiates contracts Responsible for identifying potential projects, writing proposals, making presentations, drafting letters and participating in interviews Mentors and trains mid level resident engineers Report and letter writing Qualifications 10+ years experience including a lead role in $15 million or greater water/wastewater project Requires thorough understanding of construction management processes and in-depth financial understanding of construction management. Ability to work independently and have strong personnel management skills Ability to communicate effectively with clients, contractors and lead engineer/project team, and deliver high quality services within budget and schedule constraints Detail orientated and extremely organized Work within a team environment and communicate clearly to lead engineer, clients and contractor Highly motivated self-starter with the ability to learn quickly Strong knowledge of construction management software including Primavera P6 and Bentley PWCM (EADOC) Advanced knowledge and understanding of construction methods, standards, specifications and plans Strong oral and written communications skills Strong computer and internet skills Proficient in MS Word and Excel High School Diploma or equivalent Minimum of 15 years' experience in managing the construction of water and wastewater facilities; the last 5 years of experience should include projects with a construction value of over $15 million Critical Leadership position that requires project lead experience Preferred Qualifications Associate of Science or Bachelor of Science in Engineering or Construction related program OSHA 30-hour safety course Certified Construction Manager or ability to obtain certification Compensation Range An employee's pay within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, and business or organizational needs. Assist with project setup and document control maintaining internal best practices while meeting client specific needs. Assist Project Managers with tracking project budgets and deliverables. Track project financial health and assist Project Managers with corrective actions Assist Project Managers with client and contractor communications including preparation of budget and amendment documents/request. Contract Administration: Assist with project setup and tracking tools, project compliance with contract requirements; prepare various monthly client reports; manage project specific requirements. Coordinate preparation and issuing of monthly client invoices and monitor accounts receivable including client specific reporting requirements such monthly reports and MBE/WBE reporting. Prepare and maintain appropriate records and reports as they pertain to contract specific requirements. Coordinate and attend project meetings both in person and online, produce meeting minutes and maintain project logs. Support change management, estimates and quality control including construction management activities such as document control for RFIs and submittals. Research regulations, procedures and technical reference materials. Qualifications 5-10 years of direct related/relevant professional experience on major projects in architectural, construction, engineering or another related technical field. Moderate to advanced knowledge of Excel, including data manipulation and spreadsheet design to communicate results. Understanding of project financials and accounting basics. Ability to work under pressure, prioritize effectively and manage deadlines; highly organized. Strong oral and written communication skills. Ability to relate and work well with people at all levels within the team, the office, and externally with clients. Strong planning and organizational skills. Ability to manage complex and diverse projects and deadlines. Basic understanding of engineering methods and standard operating procedures. Direct experience with financial systems and concepts. High School Diploma or equivalent. Preferred Qualifications 10-15 years project controls experience.
